Will definitely give that a watch. I love oversea's films, they usually do the best most gritty depictions of reality, as they are not held captive by Hollywood conventions and redundant storylines that cater to the masses. The Japanese and koreans make an art of unconventional plot twists and gripping stories.

 

I was really impressed, especially early. I think he should have pushed harder for the early ko. Ward was in all sorts early. He should have seized the moment.

 

It's almost impossible to go all-in against someone like Ward. Even when he's hurt, he's still smart enough to counter any wild punches. I think Kovalev did go for it, in an intelligent way.

What I saw what is exactly what I expected , except I did not expect ward to have that much dog in him. I was very confident Kovalev would out box him from range and eventually catch him and put him down . I did not expect ward to get up possessed, I thought once Kovalev caught like he did in round 2 he'd finish him that round or within the next round or 2.

Kovalev is very patient , maybe too patient with known fighters because can't ever trust judging , fact. see last night's fight. Kovalev clearly WON 8 rounds to 4 WITH a KD & LOST

 

Well said! I was impressed by both fighters, Ward too, getting up off the canvas and proceeding to execute his gameplan very well for the remainder of the fight.

The rematch can't come quickly enough imo

Just re watched the first 6. He did a good job and ward did a good job surviving. Kov only lost the 5th rnd out of the first 6 for me.

 

Sagat was always a bad mutha. He's no Ken, but he's still bad.

 

I agree - and that raises the issue of the judges only giving him one round from 6-12. Ward did very well to survive, make adjustments and turn the fight around - but he didn't win.
