Andre Ward just laid the blueprint on how to beat a guy and take 3 of his belts; Get backed up, out thrown , outlanded against, get rocked , mangled and dropped. Oh and got rocked badly and nearly dropped by a check jab. Disgraceful........
If it was that easy why couldn't Krusha down him again , or down him out for the count for the following 10 rounds?
Isn't it more disgraceful that Kovalev couldn't finish off someone that was backed up, out thrown, outlanded against, "get rocked", mangled, dropped, and got rocked badly and nearly dropped by a check jab?. Idiot.
Yeah after the knock down Krusher made the mistake of thinking he could carry on as he did,I've gotta say that I hate the way Ward went into jab and wrestle mode but it proved as Ward said before the fight that making plans and sticking to em is futile and that one has to change plans on the fly as he puts it,I believe SK did enough but ultimately he lost the fight because he never changed his plan as he seemed to lose his ability to have success at that same range where he was so dangerous early on,is that a fair assessment?
What does this have to do with the fact that Kovalev was the concencus winner of the fight , and again.. Rocked and nearly dropped Ward with a check jab?
What a stupid fight, completely dominated, battered, outboxed. No need for a rematch honestly - Ward wasn't even competitive. What a rigged BS fight.
Yep this, why was holding back and staying so patient? I got the feeling in the interview when he said I came here to show I can box that he was regretful that he didn't go into Krusher mode,I was screaming at him to cut off the ring and lay into Ward?
virgil hunter made a good point which i hadn't picked up before.... these eastern european "monsters" don't seem to get down and fight in the trenches..... He mentioned tszyu vs phillips and hatton, wlad against a couple of guys. And while jirov did get in their with toney - toney did put him down in a great fight. I think he has a point, a lot of these big so called tough guys only like the fight when it goes their way.... when their is a bit of grappling or in fighting.... they can't take it.... they just give up....that's what kovalev done at the end.... even earlier on...when he diod have energy he was just headlocking rather than digging in and in fighting.... If ward is such a pusssy and can get backed up so easily why was he scared to exchange inside. headlocking is a way of backing out of the in fighting. To me it just shows koivalev is limited when it comes to other parts of boxing. Ward took his power away late on in the contest and Kovalev had no answer. make Kovalev quit.... just like kosta tszyu quit againsty hatton and vince phillips
