After the disgusting robbery of Solis against Jamie Mc Donnell maybe its time to keep an eye out for judges who deliver the worst scoreards. The most blatant robberies etc... Starting out with Mister 117-111 from the Solis-McDonnell robbery. Robert Hoyle. This bozo may as well have filled out his card on the plane over from the states. http://boxrec.com/person/401536?role=judge Maybe this way we can keep track of the worst offenders. See if they keep cropping up. See which promoter/boxer they are 'kind' to. etc etc. Maybe some good can come of it, who knows? Anyway thought Id start the ball rolling....
How about the obvious candidate.... and although this judge 'stepped down' after a well-known controversy, never actually retired. So keep your eyes peeled... http://i.imgur.com/68Sw5fn.png http://i.imgur.com/1HWrlgc.png
Good call. But actually I was thinking more in terms of judges we are likely to see in action over here, judging fights in Britain. Or should I say ruining fights in Britain. On Sky. Matchroom fights etc that affect British Isles boxers.
i really wasn't surprised in the slightest McDonnell got the decision, heard "...and still" and just thought 'yeah seems about right'....which is exactly what is wrong with boxing atm, no matter how much its popularity is booming, this will bring it right back down eventually. i know scoring is subjective but for ALL 3 judges to have him winning AND 117-111and even 116-112 was ridiculous
I found it funny that i heard bellew saying "he's won?" in a very surprised voice before the decision was announced. If his gym mate knew he lost im sure a top judge knew. I read a good article by Buncey on this very subject cant seem to find it though I'll have aother look and post back http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/boxing/jamie-mcdonnell-boxing-news-liborio-solis-a7416616.html
thanks for posting that. While it is informative I disagree with the author big time. He seems to be the only man on earth who is 'ok' with a Jamie win. I cant find one person who feels Jamie won. Even the most charitable Jamie fan can only manage to say he might have pinched a draw. A win for Jamie is simply impossible., impossible. Also I dont agree nothing can be done about it. If fans - who are the paymasters - withdraw their support from fighters who are in receipt of crooked decisions things will change. If true fans who love the sport, and hate to see blatant robberies speak out on social media and make a loud enough stink things will change.
While I don't think the result was as much of a disgrace as people are making out (had Solis winning 7-5) his scorecard was. I notice looking at his history he gave Dominic Wade 8-2 Sam Soliman which was BS. Also Mickey Bey 119-109 against Vazquez on the Maidana Mayweather undercard which is amongst the worst scorecards I've ever seen. Allow Buncy to explain: This content is protected
We may be able to do some good here. If the worst judges get publicly named and shamed then boxers and their camps can firstly be made aware who the worst offenders are, and secondly be forewarned during the negotiations stage of a proposed fight to demand that say named judge x with a known history of dodgy scoring NOT be allowed score their fight. Otherwise no fight. This is the only way to weed out the baddies.
Modest, classy guy Solis - deffo a rematch is necessary: http://www.*******.com/liborio-solis-i-beat-jamie-mcdonnell-by-two-three-points--110853
Judge Hoyle two weeks in a row with horrific cards. Solis-McDonnell and Perez-Hooker on Saturday there. That guy needs sat down for a while
Wow - that guy is deadly......also I have huge concerns about Carl Frampton getting robbed in the Vegas rematch against lsc next year.
