Kovalev vs Ward

    I really cant belive some of the things i read here.
    This was easily an 8 to 4 fight in favor of Kovalev plus the knock down.
    All im reading is Ward made adjustments.
    So ****ing what. That does not mean he miraculously started winning the fight.
    He landed a couple jabs and a couple hooks.
    He tried to turn it into a inside fight but was neutralized except for a few body shots.
    Ward could not deal with Kovalev long range. The supposed master boxer was out boxed and people still cant seem to get over it.
    This performance by Ward didnt even warrent a draw let alon ripping 3 belts off a man.
    For Gods sake this was a clean win yet people still ***** about Leonard Hagler??
    Come on man lets be honest here. 8 4 in favor of Kovalev.
    Max Kellerman should be in the unemployment line after this one!

    I agree - round 10 is problematic. But I could find seven rounds for Ward here.

    Then you would have the fight a draw. But if you can't find 8 rounds for Ward, the judges had it wrong.

    Seven-five to Ward in rounds is 115-113 to Ward.

    Minus the single point for the KD, this would be 114-113 to Ward.

    So, you are wrong.

    You're quite often wrong when it comes to the mathematics of scorecards.

    Mistake here, but you won't find it " quite often " Show me. I'm thinking you can't and won't. So much for " quite often "

    Which 7 rounds would you give to Ward? Just curious.

    Well, there was the occasion when you were scoring Louis-Walcott I highlights like you had the competed card with the ten points must system showing a clear win for Walcott when i pointed out to you that the system being used was rounds with no extra points for KDs. This resulted in an 8-7 card for Walcott as scored by you, rendering it an extremely close fight even on your card - this was in a thread where you were insisting the margins were clear.

    My detailed rbr account is a few pages back, you can pick seven out of that if you feel inclined. I scored the fight for Kovalev though, 6-6, with the KD the deciding factor.

    I believe I had it 115 to 112 Kovalev. Ward broke him down with body shots and did some great work, may close rounds. Ward is one of my favorite fighters but I had it for Kovalev. Out jabbed ward for the most part, plus the knockdown, Kov didnt have the gas to get the KO all those body shots. Ward will prob legit win rematch figured him out.

    Ward stumbled early, adjusted and then outsmarted and outboxed his stronger opponent. Very close bout. No clear victor here. Rematch!

    Not even close. Just because u adjust some doesnt mean ur now winning. He just wasnt losing as bad. 8 to 4 Kovalev.
    No way in hell u can justify taking that mans 3 belts off of that performance.

    How many were influenced by Lampley and Lederman though? They didn't exactly offer up middle of the road commentary this time. A one round swing would change the winner on a lot of cards.
