Haye was still quick against De Mori especially. He still has his speed. If he packs on weight he hits harder but is slower. If he comes in leaner it's the opposite.

    Either way Bellew is doomed.

The hype machines started, Hearn and Adam Smith giving it the big one for all their worth.
Another mismatch of epic proportions on PPV it'll likely not go past the 1st round, the build up will be better than the fight.
However muggins here will no doubt still buy it.

Hahaha, just wow. I would even have taken this a little bit serious at Cruiserweight.

Tony Bellew would like to say thank you, and goodnight.

I had a feeling this would get made.

I dont know what this gives Haye in terms of heavyweight rankings but obviously a nice lump of cash.

will he still be inline to fight the parker/ruiz winner? and does bellew keep his belt at cruiser?

With the extra pounds on Haye is nowhere near as quick as he was, and this was evident in both of his comeback fights. He also threw less and moved less which would suggest to me that he's trying to manage the gas tank.

If he only needs to lose weight to regain his speed, why is he so heavy ?

I've never understood why Haye at heavyweight is rated so highly by people, he doesn't have one elite scalp on his resume, or is somebody going to tell me beating the likes of Valuev, Harrison and a shot Ruiz somehow mean something ?

Knocking out Chisora, and running away from Wlad for 12 rounds are his heavyweight career highlights, and Chisora is bang average.

These would all be valid points ... if Haye was fighting Joshua or Joseph Parker.

He's fighting Tony Bellew... at heavyweight. If Bellew was fighting Chisora at heavyweight I'd be worried for his safety.

    Exactly !

This is the most lucrative fight out there with minimal risk, unless Bellew can manage to stay out of range until Haye starts blowing.

The trash talking in the build up will be off the scale, and Sky will convince the casuals that this is a 50/50 fight between two of the best heavyweights in the World.

I think Bellew would have a good chance vs Stevenson at Cruiser. Looks a different fighter.

This fight makes financial sense for both. Once bellew gets ko, he move back to CW and gets another big payday with a unification and can retire from that.

Chisora would KO Bellew. He'd bully him around the ring. And Haye was the first man to stop Chisora, don't forget that. It's his attributes that make a threat at HW, not his resume.

Money talks.. but why take a harder fight when Stevenson is likely to move up in weight win or lose and the unification fight is right there.. could have been back to back fights..

Haye is way past his prime, hasn't broke a sweat in a fight in nearly 4 years. Quality fighters can and do age over night.

Bellew clearly doesn't command much respect on this board, but he is in his prime with nothing to lose in this fight.

Could be the final nail in the coffin for Haye's smoke and mirrors career this.
