Yeah weird stuff. He seemed to be pulling a Clottey, and then just quit. His facial expressions were odd during the fight also. Not like a guy from a third world country to be scared in the ring. Especially not a power puncher with an iron chin. I've seen Walters fight a bit. He didn't even put in a 100% effort. He held back and fought scared. He claimed he was hurt really bad the last round, but he walked right through everything Lomachenko hit him with. Then you see Arum climb into the ring post fight with that smirk on his face. He's one dirty MFer. Lomachenko would have been a handful for Walters regardless. I find Walters lack of effort, lack of following any gameplan, and mannerisms in the ring highly abnormal.
More likely outside influences made Walters quit. Dude has an iron chin. Had he let his hands go more and kept Hi-Tek honest, he would have went the distance.
I'd be interested to know what the game plan was. It didn't look like Walters tried to follow one. He damn sure wasn't going to outbox Hi-Tek. I was waiting for the Salido esq bumrush that never happened.
Lomachenko landed 30 punches in the 7th round. 6 jabs, 24 power punches. That's why he quit. He was going to get ko'd.
No not fixed Lomos just a freak,I've hardly ever seen him throw a shot with his feet planted, the guy is constantly on the move and to my untrained eye is the only boxer I've seen who actually replicates in the ring what he does when he shadow boxes? Surprised me when he quit but facing Lomo must be a nightmare as once he has his opponent figured out its curtains.
After the 7th he knew he was going to be beaten up, possibly for another five rounds and didn't fancy the job description. Also he was being humiliated... not just beaten, he was having his self-esteem dismantled. He was broken mentally as much as anything else and Walters is a boxer used to having things his own way, used to dominating, not being owned. That's why he quit, nothing to do with pay offs. You take a shot and go down if you've taken money to lose or lose before a certain round. Just ask Wilder's pal Malik. Loma's win was legit.
It's actually simple what happened... Lomachenko humiliated him in the 7th and broke his heart & will. He also took away Walters main weapon the right hand throughout the fight.. It was a clinic and he made a world class fighter look like a journeyman. He's getting better and better... Don't hate on Walters he's a good guy and will come again. No mas happens sometimes...
He hit Walters a few times in the 7th. He didn't land no 30 power punches though. Don't be mislead by CompuBox fvckery.
Lol... Yeah he took a payoff.. I guess going forward loma only faces paid off fighters... No wonder he looked so good. The only guy that didn't take the payoff was salido ... oh my
True, he showed huge leaks in his fight game against Sosa and Donaire , YES Donaire had him on cloud 15 in round 1 or 2, can't remember which round but he was completely out and if there were 5 seconds left in that round it was OVER , no questions asked . and Sosa fought him really tough and it was proven walters didn't have that little extra all the true elites have . Exactly same feelings I had when Loma "lost" to salido, neither should had been that close . I can see how die hard ward fans can give him every benefit of every doubt to make the kovalev fight one that "could go either way". I have to watch Loma walters and see if Loma is truly improving or he's getting huge media push.
