Why does size matter?

If they are not big then they are averaged sized. You honestly think that if something is not big then it is not small? I highly doubt you believe that, the more likely scenario is you are still trying to keep your sinking ship afloat.

Can you not read? I said MULTIPLE TIMES 6'1"! You are trolling hard here.

Wtf do you mean by the part I highlighted?

I never said anything about Patterson vs Liston. I just said Patterson because he was 6 foot. The trolling too real with you right now.

How was Liston a more dominant champion Patterson? He successfully defended it once whereas Patterson successfully defended it 6 times.

No your flipping the argument ,everyone knows Holmes was considered a big HW in his day as was Ali, you just want to troll your thread so have at it, only a fool will agree with you anyway, theres one up top..lol

Everything you state is backwards usually and now you are trying to use Patterson as a dominant era champion or some reasoning here when Liston was the best not Patterson. youtr the biggest liar on here ,you never said Dempsey was 6'1 and couldn't list all the bigger fighters/taller guys he fought . please take a break and regroup.

I'm 6'3 and have stood next to some known heavyweights in normal shoes. Generally they are shorter than advertised.

Also, when we watch fights, sometimes the fighter listed as an inch or two the shorter man, is in fact an inch or so the taller. Sometimes a fighter who is supposed to be 3 inches taller is barely taller at all. People will say "he didn't look much taller" or "maybe it's the way he stands" but the reason is because someone's height, or both, are listed wrong.

I have the same inclinations, but can't really verify it.

There's one instance I'm thinking of....

Before the Foreman vs. Norton bout starts, Joe Louis walks into the ring to greet each fighter. And he kinda looks as big or bigger than both.

He looks clearly shorter than Foreman and a bit shorter than Norton.

And considering he's listed at 6'2'', while the two of them are 6'4'' and 6'3'', I don't see your point.

Joe Louis was probably wearing thicker shoes than boxing soles but he was probably similar height in bare feet, can't have been much less. Probably the same height or close, and in his prime certainly would have been, since he was 60 years old here.
Whether that means Louis was taller than listed, or Foreman and Norton shorter, we can't say.

Can't see that myself. Not that it matters.

Yeah and when he walks off the ring you can see his shoes. And they don't look like they're helping.

Look at Louis when he is standing across Foreman. His eye level looks higher. He looks taller.

I'd guess they were all about 6'2.
    Foreman, Norton, Louis and Ali.

Hey, I've seen heavyweight fighters' listed heights change over time too. Some might say they grew, and Foreman claimed he grew an inch in his lay-off, but past the age of 19 or 20 it's very unlikely you'll gain even a fraction of an inch in height.

Evander Holyfield was listed as 6'1 in every fight I saw of him until he became a heavyweight, when 6'2 1/2 was the height they settled on.

Mike Tyson's one of the few I've seen whose listed height decreased over the years. In his prime, his managers insisted he was almost 6 foot, actually had him listed as 5'11 3/4.
Years later 5'10 was shown on the tale-of-the-tapes.

Weight can be faked at heavyweight too.
    No one cares.

Maybe Evander Holyfield gain 1 1/2 inches due to PEDs ?
