Competitive fights are far different from fighters who just had a punchers chance.

De Mori actually has a fair old wallop on him and he had a punchers chance against Haye, although it was blatantly obvious he didn't have the technical skills to land it.

It is well documented why the fight with Briggs didn't happen. Do some research rather than just being ignorant.

Briggs has even less chance. He's bout 100 years old!

I agree 100%... This is coming from someone who can't stand either guy. This is a decent fight. Some people are impossible to please. I'm just worried about more shenanigans/a possible pull out from Haye... Which is always a possibility with that guy.

    "Fun Fight"

I don't find the thought of seeing a death in the ring as "fun" and try to wrap your head around this, that is a definite possibility here.

That sickening feeling that everyone had in the pit of their stomach like they just watched a public execution for "fun" after the brutal Canelo-Khan KO that's the feeling we'll all be having when they carry Bellew out of the ring on a stretcher, and I'm not joking at all here.

    Yea
Yea I think most of the people are not complaining about theese type of fights, but just about the people involved in them. It's a fun match and boxing is about entertaining but money > fun. If haye wanted fun - Briggs was the man , but there is no money in this fight. And now Haye gives us a missmatch lmao.

Bellew's too much of a glass jawed joke to get seriously hurt here. Haye will starch him early and brutally in all likelihood. But I filly expect to see Bellew in another farcical voluntary defense before 2017 is over with.

I think Tony's rep will be damaged with the public when he gets knocked out by a jab in the first round whilst attempting to run away.

Remember he spoke a big game before fighting Stevenson and then fought like a quivering minge when it came time to actually deliver. Say what you want about Haye but he's a massive puncher and Tony knows this. He just wants two pay days rather than one.

Not sure how that can happen as I am pretty sure he will have to vacate to fight Haye or get get stripped. I believe his mando goes to purse bids if not sorted in the next 10 or so days, and he had to fight his mando within 120 days?

Also does this mean Haye vacates his mando to fight the winner of Parker v Ruiz jr as that also had to be done within 120 days of their fight?

    Its not a terrible fight.
Bellew is a legitimate world champion at Cruiser and Haye is a former cruiser/small HW.

    I'm looking forward to it.

I think Haye sparks him in less than 5

Correct. We want exciting fights, not epic mismatches like Haye vs. Bellew where Haye is a 50:1 favorite. This fight is a joke and no boxing fan is getting excited about this. Bellew at HW is not even a borderline top 50 fighter.

You say you enjoy seeing KO's. So what if Haye boxes a random cab driver off the street, has a 'war of words' with him. Then Haye is a 10,000:1 favorite and knocks the guy clean out. How is that exciting? That's why no one is getting excited about Haye vs. Bellew. Their 'war of words' is scripted. The fight is a mismatch. There's no title on the line. This is a circus exhibition match designed to rip off casual and newbie boxing fans that no old-school boxing fan wants to see.

Yep, a sparring match over less than 5 rounds, on PPV.

Don't exaggerate, hes not 1:50. Latest iodds show him as 1:7...which are shorter odds than what Loma was last weekend.

    I don't think the fight's particularly bad.
If a current cruiserweight titlist wants to fight a smallish heavyweight (and former CW himself) that's reasonable.

What's bad is that Haye and Eddie Hearn and SKY broadcast team (and the rest of the UK media following them) will use it as an excuse to ballyhoo Haye into a serious heavyweight and the 'logical' rival to Anthony Joshua. They may not admit that just yet but when the time comes this will be more or less Haye's "final eliminator".

i dont think its a massive mismatch.
i watch boxing because i love the sport but i also want it entertainnig too.
too many 'fans' are quick to criticise rubbish cards or boring cards.
Haye was a previous cruiser and is not a massive heavy so its not a massive mismatch in those terms.

i like this fight, bellew wants it with his big mouth.......let him have it i say.
