Idk man. If him and the likely winner Povetkin will ever fight, I want both of them to be at their best. And Wilder will be inactive for a year if he doesn't take a tune up.

Or maybe you're right. He should just fight in a 10 rounder in a non-title bout.

Wilder will be fighting his 5th voluntary defense against another bum........................WBC will keep Wilder away from Povetkin..............Povetkin was cleared of the drug charge, but the WBC still is trying to protect Wilder.............

Uninterested in Wilder's career ATM. Get back to me when he's in with a top 5 guy.

Wilder will be fighting his 5th voluntary defense against another bum.................Povetkin was cleared of the drug charge a long time ago, but the WBC is still protecting him..............waiting for Povetkin to get old, in the meantime Wilder will be doing something that no other champion has done, that's fight 5 voluntary defenses against bums in a row.................Wilder will nevr have to fight a real fighter.................Wilder was crying to the WBC to stop the Povetkin fight, and they did.................

The WBC has proclaimed that the WBC is now a stateside only belt.

I also think it will be an American next and the WBC will only let Wilder fight a live body that is American. I would say Wilders expiry date is soon- because he has become a joke because they do not trust him enough to make him face anyone who will challenge him (AJ, Haye, Povetkin, Wladimir, Fury).

The WBC is so thick that they do not realise this devalues their belt and makes them look like a bunch of corrupt baboons...but so long as the belt stays in the USA and not linked to another belt holder... thats all that matter

I still don't understand how they can rate Stiverne at #2.
He has been inactive for over a year and his only fight since his Wilder loss was a very hard fought victory on Derric Rossy

Rudenko is too dangerous for Wilder-hehe! He certainly prefers Wawa from Poland,a guy who cant crack an egg with his soft punches.

Yet, if you look at that top 10, Wilder has faced THREE GUYS IN THE TOP SIX (the guys currently ranked second, fourth and sixth), and he'd have faced four of the top six (the number-one guy), but Povetkin caused the fight to be postponed.

So anyone who looks at the top 15 and thinks he's always signing to fight the worst don't know what they're talking about.

Three of the five guys he's faced in WBC title fights are currently ranked in the top six. A fourth he signed to fight (Povetkin) is number one, but he failed his drug test.

And one other (Molina) is fighting for the IBF title next. So I don't know where you get this sub-top 10 crap from.

Wilder's been fighting the WBC's contenders. As WBC champ, that's what he's supposed to do.

    Wilder's opponents have been fine.

No doubt the winner of Povetkin-Stiverne will be offered the fight. That person will be the WBC's top contender. Whether that person accepts or not is up to him.

your excuses are pathetic he has one borderline top ten heavyweight ( stiverne ) in all his career wbc rankings smell as bad as your excuses and that is the best you have.

    Price could KO Wilder "hypothetically."

But we should understand he doesn't have the balls to stand up to Wilder.

Price would cower in the corner until he got decked. Like Audley.

If you'd read my earlier posts I mentioned I was referring to ring top 10 hw's. Rings not perfect, but it's a much better indicator of objective strength as a fighter than WBC rankings. Historically, I've defended Wilder. His opponents weren't as bad as some critics say. If Duhaupas beats Takam, I'll rank him in the top ten. But the fact remains none of Wilders defenses have been against even debatable top ten hw's at the time of the fight. Enough is enough. If he fights another one as a defense, it will be a RECORD five defenses and over two years as champ without taking on a challenger widely regarded in the top ten. That demeans the sport, the achievements of past long term champs, and simply should not be allowed.
