How on Earth is Gennady Golovkin Ring Magazine's P4P Number 4??

Walters is better than his resume (and Sosa who Walters clearly beat is a title holder now) but now he's probably going to be mediocre - it's not easy to fight when your soul has been snatched.
I don't think Oscar has enough knowledge of fighters today to make these calls, but I would expect he'd exercise his power by keeping guys like Canelo in the list. Oscar is too busy getting high it seems.

 

There have been so few real top level fights in the last few years I don't know how you are supposed to put together a p4p list.

When elite are fighting elite in multiple weight classes, then you can start making good assumptions on how these guys would all fare against each other. It can make for an intriguing conversation. The fewer top fights we see, the more vague and abstract these lists become.

I mean, how the hell are you even supposed to place Golovkin looking at who he has fought? It's proper finger in the air stuff... you could make an equally good case for him being #1 as you could #10.

 

You can't be a top 10 p4p fighter being the king of Bum land and waiting for handouts from midgets.

Alright so everyone can see that you believe you're more educated than a magazine that specializes in boxing with over 90 years of boxing knowledge and experience. Incorrect Brook has been on the ring mag p4p list. Yes he was a smaller weight fighter but it is no different than Walters fighting Donaire or Vic. Or Crawford fighting Gamboa.

 

It is different because they were at the lower weight beforehand. Anyway, whoever gives Walters any sort of credit for beating Vic is misguided.

 

They all look C and D level when GGG is through with them.

 

So say Loma beat Rigo, would that not give him more credence for p4p then? He's smaller....

 

Not if Rigo went to 130 (which would be your example equivalent).

 

How is Ward ranked above GGG In 5 years the ONLY ranked fighter he fought was Kovalev He had to rely on very suspicious judging & bias refereeing to get a controversial win. Apart from this he met FOUR clubfighters ijn FIVE years. One contraversial win doesn't make a P4P

 

Besides Kell Brook, GGG hasn't faced a world class fighter.

Taking that fight out of the equation, Wards wins over Kovalev, Froch, Kessler, Bika, Dawson and Abraham would each all qualify as better than any of GGG's wins.

Ward > GGG on every single aspect, P4P, h2h, resume, everything. Not even close.

The ONLY reason GGG hasn't fought the 160 so called elite is because they are chit scared to get in the ring with him. They talk macho trash till its crunch time then out come the excuses and they slither away back under their rocks they slithered out from. Name me one guy 168 & under that would have a prayer against GGG C;mon lets be having you

 

You mention 168 like GGG is even considering fighting at that weight. There are plenty of fights for him there and he has so far shown absolutely ZERO interest in challenging himself by going to that weight, preferring to fight guys coming up from 154.

 

I'd have him at 5....still it irks me that a P4P fighter like Tripple seems hesitant to move at least one division up
