have to say when I was reading this on the BBCs website I just thought it was on about his fight with Chris Eubank jnr earlier this year where he was rushed to hospital with a bleed on the brain but no it's an incedent that happened on the 22nd of November and it seems some idiots thought it ok to let Blackwell spar in the ring,he complained of headaches afterwards and was taken to hospital where he's been operated on and is in an induced comar, there's an inquiry to find out who's responsible for letting this happen.

He's too brave for his own good to the point where he looks foolish.

That's when he needs good people around him, not idiots who are egging him on

Not sure but this is a guy who's boxing career has been finished when he lost to Eubank and suffered a bleed on the brain,he had no good reason to be inside a boxing ring let alone sparring, there's gonna be action taken against whoever was there.
As a side note didn't David Haye give him a considerable amount of his own purse from his last fight?wonder how he's feeling right now,Bellew accused Haye of being broke the other day well wether broke or not that was such a kind thing to do on Hayes behalf only at the moment he may not survive to see it?

Yeah I thought so on the advice of doctors no doubt, what made him think he could spar though, even with head gear he should of known and those involved should certainly have known that he could get hurt again,I fear this time he could be in very bad shape

Read it earlier and can't say I'm sorry for him now.
That's just reckless and beyond stupid.

    Hope he's OK.

I only ever sparred, I never had the stones to actually compete... It's a weird thing - I can only compare boxing to an addiction. Even when I'd had my butt handed to me in a session or got hurt (obviously nowhere near to the degree of this), etc. The following day or even a few hours later, I wanted to get back in the gym again and spar as soon as possible - whether I was still feeling the pain or not. The thrill of being in the ring is hard to shake off.

And that's for an average guy like me who only trained for a few years when I was younger - taking it semi-seriously. I can only imagine the itch Nick must be feeling - he's someone who lives and breathes this sport!

A very good question - who could have NOT known about Nicks injury???? Maybe it was family? Cant see anyone else actually punching a man in /nicks condition in the head. Who was present? What gym allowed this to happen?
