Yea I know he isn't a marathon runner.

But the 100m speed would be even worse for marathon runners, so using Mo Farah as an example it's basically a best case scenario for marathon runners.

And his acceleration was very poor, at least as a sprinter that is.

And there's a difference between not going all out, and being able to make up an 1.5 second difference.

If Joshua got beat up by a tiny marathon runner, who never boxed a day in their life, I would be very shocked.

Trap? Anyone who watches vids should see Joshua is fast footed. The whole he's a slow robot is believed like anything in boxing because once said enough times it is then considered a fact, so is boxing the most easily to persuade fans of what is real and not out of any combat sport. :juggle:

But there's no correlation between being a fast sprinter on a track and being "fast-footed" in the boxing ring.
Muhammad Ali had the fastest feet in heavyweight history but performed dismally on the track in a sprint.

Theres a difference between explosive foot work /jumping side to side back and forth Tyson style to that of fast circling around the ring. It takes quicker feet to cut the ring off against moving targets. try catching a chicken like rocky did ,you will see why. If you are suggesting Joshua doesn't have fast feet well he's a track and field star as well so that's impossible, he could maneuver any which way he wants in the ring but he's aggressive so no need to expend more energy than need be.

Usually, fast feet go with fast hands, but I seldom see fast feet and slow hands. Just saying.

How did Ali perform in track?

I'm saying being fast at sprinting has nothing to do with moving around a ring fast. Completely different. I don't care what type of footwork we're talking about, none of them are correlated with sprinting speed.

I think he came last in a similar TV show (American version) in the 1970s.

I think there's a big difference between Ali of the early 70's and the brain damaged late 70's version, when exactly was it?

It might have been a charity event actually.

Sprinting and moving around a ring are entirely different. Sprinting is sprinting. If anyone did anything remotely resembling sprint in a boxing ring they'd end up flying through the ropes.
Although Hagler's finale run at Hearns was kinda impressive.

A boxing ring is about 6 metres from one side to the other. You can't do anything like proper running in a boxing ring.
But I'm stating the f--king obvious so I'll shut up.

Being quick footed makes it easier to move around period. Being able maneuver around the ring is key. It takes a special fighter at 240 to move quick and in out of range. All athletic types moved quick in the ring that were more athletic. Show me a guy of slow feet that ran fast because ive never met one.

Normally I'd agree with you. I'm not sure everyone sees this as obvious

Yesterday at the gym I saw this welterweight dude absolutely schooling the **** out of this stocky heavyweight.

I think the welterweight might've been a pro. He was doing all this fancy Mayweather tricks, like hopping around the ring, not throwing punches. He sat in the corner and let the stocky heavyweight wail on him for like a minute. He took some clean shots but blocked most of them.

It was an amazing scene tbh. This guy was having like a normal conversation while dodging haymakers. He would keep his hands down and dance while dodging all the punches his way. It was a treat to watch.

And when he decided to punch, he could punch with more force than the heavyweight.

They are two different classes of fighters, but it was pretty amazing watching a welterweight play with a tough heavyweight.
