They both did but Marciano doesn't rely on defense like Louis who liked to parry punches then counter. marciano is usually up close giving the opponent less room to get a clear shot off.

It takes a more slippery fighter to beat Louis than one who just boxes on the outside. Conn wasn't really boxing like Ali, Conn was just slippery...for lack of a better word.
