@Mr.DagoWop you'd be surprised the kind of advice you can get from someone critiquing your sparring or heavy bag work video. More so than anything else, recording yourself and watching it will help you get better, if you know what you want to do.

Whenever I work out at home doing shadowboxing and heavy bag work (2 times per week) I always record myself. I am at the point right now where I won't take any more advice from anyone unless they are a fellow fighter or trainer. I don't know anyone on here in real life so I can't confirm anyone's credentials. When I posted my videos on here it was because I didn't have access to a gym at the time and could use all the advice I could get.

Right now I have coaches to help me and a gym full of talented people. I'm more than good on that front.

Mate, the boxing god Dago will only take advice from you once you've proven yourself worthy.

Its not like you could learn something from just about anyone now is it.

It's the condescending posts like these that discourage people from putting themselves out there.

Acting holier than thou just because someone doesn't want your advice. Lol, get a grip.

You'd have to be quite a ***** to be scared of posting on an anonymous internet forum. I think if this scares you then boxing isn't your thing.

    Generation of snowflakes I guess.

I didn't attempt to give him any advice, I took the ****. I thought that was obvious.

Also, you don't think it's ridiculous to say unless you have specific credentials I'm going to ignore everything you say? Can you not see how idiotic that is?

What does this have to do with fear? It's about respect, and accuracy.
Don't be a disrespectful to someone, and then expect them to heed your advice.
This is a standard social norm.

I understand where Dago is coming from. Sometimes you're just not looking for advice. And honestly the feedback you get here doesn't compare to a qualified trainer giving your real time feedback in person.

Steel Shoulders is a great poster on this forum. Really nice guy. Gave some really solid and well thought out advice.
But he told me to forget everything my coach taught me.
My coach trains like 5-10 GG champions a year, and trains pros, one who is a top 5 in a major division.
So even well informed and well intentioned folks can give some questionable advice.

You're asking people to be more humble, and to take critique better.
Perhaps it's the critics who need a dose of humble pie.

Part of growing as a boxer is knowing who to listen to. When to listen to them, and why. To be honest, the feedback I got when I posted footage wasn't super helpful. It's night and day between the feedback I get in real life, and there is little cohesion between the two for me to work off of.

With exceptions like Steel, it seems more like people wanting to toot their own horn, versus a genuine desire to help others. That's a toxic environment to base your combat education on tbh.

Dago isn't asking for advice in this thread any more. It's just people with a false sense of entitlement nagging him on.

I don't care if Dago takes any advice of mine. I gave him advice when he first started and he cried like a ***** and started insulting myself and others because he didn't like the fact we told him to put education ahead of boxing.

Saying you won't take advice from someone because they're not a boxer or trainer is ******ed.

If you have poor form with a punch and you keep losing balance, it doesn't take a boxer to say "well maybe stand with your feet a bit wider" or whatever, the advice may fix your problem, whether the guys a qualified boxing coach or a 12 year old girl.

How you worked this out I have no clue. I literally took the ****, that's all.

    Obviously.

People have attempted to help Dago in various threads, but he's too special to take advice and always knows better.

Again, I took the ****. It's funny to see Dago trying to be the big angry child and threaten to fly overseas to beat them up.

    You're not getting the point.
The advice I got was to ignore the mentorship of a world class trainer.
I'm pointing out the potential for some big errors and oversights you can get from even the well intentioned critiques here.

The tone you use here does not accurately reflect the critiques here.
Which sucks. Because if it did, I bet there would be more substantive content here.
Instead, all the good stuff is handled in PMs.

Are you saying that the feedback here is better quality than what you get at the gym by top level trainers?
Because that's like selling people on dog crap and calling it steak.
The best anyone here should do is offer a second opinion. By helping them see something a certain way perhaps.
Not breaking them down, and all that extra crap. It's unrealistic. That's where you lose people.

Rez, you said it absolutely perfect!

Virus, you're a bully. I treated you like a bully is to be treated and you got scared like the coward you are. That's all I'm going to say about that. Don't expect me to want anything to do with you even when you said yourself, you don't know anything about actual boxing.

Now your lying again. What really happened (anyone can go back to verify it in my first thread) was you and a few others started trash talking telling me I was "ducking my old man" because I didn't want to fight my father. Do you realize how immature that is to say? No wonder you have all of 6 likes on your comments. Just goes to show how much people approve of your opinion. In fact the first word you ever said to me was calling me an idiot. I even tried to shrug it off and said "thanks for the advice." Where did I flat out start insulting people because they didn't tell me what you think I wanted to hear?

I think it is you that doesn't get my point.

You were given some advice that you didn't agree with, which is fair enough. My point is you read the advice, took it in and made a decision on whether or not to take the advice or brush it aside.

Saying I'm going to completely ignore everything you say based on the fact you have no credentials is idiotic. This is what I'm trying to get across.

To be honest some people don't deserve decent responses.

Where do you keep getting this from? Where did I say this?

The best anyone here can do is offer an opinion.

What I am saying is that whether or not you listen to someone is based on the advice they give and past experience not whether or not they hold qualifications in the subject.

I'm a bully? Haha. I believe it was you saying you wanted my address so you could come and beat me up because you couldn't take the fact you were wrong about weight training.
