Even if you think Haye cut himself with a razor to get out of the fight - I'm humouring you whackjobs with that - to then think he was so afraid he went and got unnecessary surgery on his shoulder is absolutely absurd. A Fury payday was great for him win or lose. It's also good to see you not argue with Tyson's one year reign of stupidity. He categorically did all of the things mentioned.
Good. That's something. So how do you feel David's cut and shoulder injury compares to Tyson's PED charge, supposedly minor injury, lack of training, recreational drug abuse and undiagnosed mental health issues? Who has been the bigger dick out of the two in that scenario?
So it's a personal thing - unless you believe Haye deliberately cut himself and exaggerated an injury to get surgery to get out of the fight that is - as most people would say being cited for PEDs, not bothering to train, then perhaps feigning a minor injury to buy more time to train or suffering an minor injury then claiming to suffer from undiagnosed mental health problems and being busted for recreating drug use is objectively the worse behaviour of the two.
I love this thread great memories it was so sweet to be proven right Fury beats Wlad we were right How couldn't they see it ?
Once again dino has to educate the trolls No matter who he is no man can beat prime fury He Dosen't even have to come back he already proved he is the greatest ever and big heavyweights like him hit prime between 32-37 he could come back even better You haters are funny the lies you invent about Fury he would outbox any man easily
So fury the guy who actually turned up to fight is the coward but David "I ran away" gaye isn't How smart you are
Haye wasted Fury's time. Fury wasted Wladimir's time. I think both statements are beyond dispute. I think Fury's mental illness is at least more true that Haye's "career ending" injury. I don't think anyone regards Fury as fully sane. Of course, Haye's injury might actually be that bad. But if that's the case, why are his supporters even entertaining the idea that he's any sort of legitimate threat to the division these days ?? That seems a contradiction.
Firstly people do recover from bad injuries. It's only worth challenging Haye on pulling out for it if you think he could have fought Fury but chose not to. The fact he had fairly major surgery suggests that he was indeed injured and couldn't have fought at that time. Fury on the other hand hasn't produced anything looking like a diagnosis and some suspect that he just couldn't be bothered and started taking cocaine. I have plenty of sympathy for those suffering from mental health issues but Fury might just be some guy not wanting to live the life of a professional athlete. He might want to be a coked up moron like so many men of his age. Has he sought tretement? If he has it'd be good if him to let his fans know of his plight so they can support him and silence many of his detractors who think he can't be bothered to train.
I don't think Povetkin is a tier below Ortiz, Parker and Joshua. In fact, Povetkin has better credentials than all of them combined. Povetkin's past his best too. Josua and Parker are good prospects but similar prospects came and went during the Wlad era. We are HOPING they are a cut above, their's no evidence to support it yet.
It wasn't career ending injury, evidently. Haye started talking about fighting soon after and when he did finally come back it was against lesser opposition than Fury. I'm not saying he wasn't injured. I'm not saying it wasn't a bad injury. I suspect it was a bad injury. That doesn't change the fact that Haye wasted Fury's time. And he gloated about it too. I couldn't care less whether Fury is "just lazy" or whether he's "medically ill". You can get a diagnosis not to fight either way. A man who sits around wasting his life taking cocaine can easily get a diagnosis anyway. Most people can get a diagnosis for depression. The only thing I'll say - and it's been pointed out before - is that Fury's been talking about suicidal depression in interviews going back several years. I'm not interested in the ins and outs of this year's melt-down, since the whole thing is over. Fury's given up his belts and Wlad's given up on Fury. That's all we, as boxing fans, should be interested in. Fury wasted Wlad's time.
