Name me a fighter MGM have taken on and improved?? Matthews, Stalker, Conlan!!?? Not sure what type of training goes on over there? Saunders didn't even look fit.

True, Fury has never struggled with the rounds as much as BJS. He's more blessed physically at HW, and probably trains harder as well.

Having said that, it's no secret how bad his diet is. I'm a fan of Fury the boxer and think if he sorts himself out he is the best HW out there. But I also think he has levels he'll never reach because he's not as well conditioned as other boxers.

 

Never rated BJS as a world class boxer, he's good domestic and European level but never world class. CEJ would beat him now without a doubt and GGG would KO him badly. Warren and him will cash in next year and call it a day after the heavy defeat.

 

I don't see how anyone can think BJS could live with Canelo.

 

I think Eubank Jn is awesome to watch...but what makes you think that he can beat BJS? Eubank Jn himself isn't very active either and has only fought domestic level fighters in 3rd gear. He's not moved on and hasn't been pushed or pushing himself to the limit. He's at exactly the same stage as when he fought BJS. Whereas BJS went and won the WBO title.

 

When you don't have fights lined up, the motivation isn't there... eating, partying, laziness all set in.

He's gone a year without a fight (for whatever reason, you can put it down to injuries and other opponent's messing him about) and he's ended up way out of shape. He's then gone into camp... there have obviously been issues in camp which don't help and given he's not been active and has piled the weight on, he's cut the weight too fast. Hence the flat performance last night.

Plus I think BJS is the kind of fighter who needs the big name or better quality of fighter to get up for the fight.

 

I think in a boxers career there is always a defining moment where it either makes or breaks you...I think in his loss to BJS he hurt soooo much that he would not let that happen ever again, he learnt so much from that fight that in the rematch I honestly think it would be an easy fight for him. Boxing's a funny game at times though......

Why did he decline to fight on the Canelo v Smith card then?

Some boxers live the life others do not. Damn even Floyd stays in shape and he was fighting twice a year. Dude is retired and is still likely in better shape than BJS ever will be.

 

He looked in terrible shape last night.

 

That was poor last night, really poor, I will give Billy the benefit and put it down to inactivity and the fact it was a fight he was expected to win very comfortably and he wasn't up for it.

Yes I'm being generous but I've had a good weekend and can't go hard on BJS because I'm in a very good mood.

It was still really poor though.

 

Look at his comp before the BJS fight and after?


CEJ had only been 8 rounds max before the first fight and now has fought at a high pace for nearly a whole 12 rounds against Chudinov and 10+ against Blackwell. He fights at a pace higher than anyone else in the division can produce, Blackwell has great fitness and he thought he could exploit CEJ in that area and CEJ out threw him 2 to 1 at least.

CEJ won a WBA interim title and a British title after fighting BJS

Heck he got robbed against BJS and should have been the winner in the first place.

 

I think Eubank would beat him in a rematch comfortably. BJS just doesn't have the desire or work ethic to push his career to greater heights. Since he beat Andy Lee to become a world champ he's done nothing but put on weight & look poor against a C level fighter.
