Possibly although it seemed pretty rammed/loud and I'd imagine Hyland would have brought a crowd from Ireland as well. He did have one hell of an undercard as well, Nurse (Yorkshire), Campbell (Yorkshire) Dillian Whyte v Allen (Yorkshire) plus Yafai/Burnett/Eggington/Gavin I'll be shocked if it wasn't a sell out

I was at the last Warrington show. It looked sold out to me even in the rafters there wasn't an empty sest. Bot of a porky that from hearn. Hearn probably jist didn't want to offer what frank did. Although I like Warrington as a lad and fighter hard to see him win against Selby, if he does lose his step up fight, will he still sell out the arenas? I don't know. But calling hearts BS that it didn't sell well. Go to many shows a year and apart from quigg Frampton the Leeds one had the best atmosphere of them all

    Wh
What im saying is, its more likeley that FW made an offer to warrington who then went back to eddie and said this is what fr4nks offering, can u better it?
Eddie then proceeded to lay out his deal, which warrington then summised wasnt as good as fr4nks and decided it was time to part ways with MR.
Knowing josh (hes from same area as myself)He did this respectfuly and thanked eddie for the time and effort hed put into joshs career, from then on its been a matter of public relations from eddie.
I just cant see how the leeds show lost money,it only did about 1500 less than usual and there was still over 7000 there that night.

He seemed pretty positive about it though. He didn't seem bothered about him leaving and that would suggest that he or his team at least weren't particularly willing to agree the fights that Eddie wanted him to be in.

Compare that with the way he was talking about Frampton and CEJ and you can see a real sense of missed opportunity and bitterness about them not signing with him long term. I was also surprised by how nice he was about Degale who by most accounts - and tv appearances - is a bit of a *****. I was surprised to see him describe him as a good bloke.

That's why I think he was more disappointed that team Warrington wouldn't take the fights matchroom wanted rather than losing Warrington.

It's another example of a fighter being led by people who don't necessarily have his best interests at heart.

You cant say that mate. Hearns reference to 'his team around him" meant his dad and steve woods his manager. His dad certainly has his best interests at heart and his managers job is to make him as much money as possible, whilst br8nging him out at the other end intact and compus mentus.
Hearn said that josh really wanted the selby fight and i for one thinks he beats selby. Thats not a fanboy speaking...if you study selby he isnt as good as most think he is. His defence is pityful at mid range and thats why he got caught clean with hooks every rd vs hunter

Hearn looks a lot less sure of himself, it looks and sounds like to me there is genuine competition for Matchroom and Sky for the first time in a very long time.

Things have changed, Within the last year Hearn was saying "you'll never be a PPV fighter in Britain without me".

Now he is saying things along the lines of "Lots of platforms and we have to make sure we have the best PPV events" and "There are now lots of platforms and you don't have to be with me to make it but I'll make you the most money".

Next year will be very interesting.

Exactly Warrington wants the fight. Does his dad and manager want it though?

It astounds me that Warrington never attended the meetings.

ITV PPV is the big danger to matchroom. ITV has registered a channel under that name so they are thinking about it. ITV can make the right fighter a household name very very easily. Even Joshua would be tempted to jump to them.

It's absolutely clear as day that Warrington's team don't want the Selby fight. Eddie has explained many times in interviews that he tried to make the fight in the summer and then in November. Warrington and his team turned it down in the summer because his wedding was coming up after (a total cop out excuse IMO) and then they priced themselves out in November. They don't want the fight, anyone who disputes this is a Warrington fanboy.

He actually seemed rattled by Haye's attack. I think he's realised that that is how a lot of people actually see him and with people now trying to do their own thing off of the back of his success in bringing boxing back to the attention of the public at large he's right to be a bit concerned.

Haye shredding him definitely bothered him, far more than he wants to admit.

What I found even funnier was Adam Smith in an IFL interview saying Haye was right, Smith did say it with a smile on his face but even creepy Adam having cheeky pops at Eddie and siding with Haye.

I think BT/Boxnation, ITV will give Matchroom a run for their money, I think BT will give it a real go just like they have with Premier League football, I think they will invest in boxing.

ITV being a terrestrial channel have a huge audience and market to tap in to so Matchroom will have to up these bang average PPV events.

Pricing on these platforms will be very interesting, competition is healthy for boxing and should be very good for the fighters but it could end up costing the boxing fans more than it does now.
