He looks to be in the best shape of his life! I just don't think it will be good enough to beat Parker. We'll see though.
A really interesting question. Some fighters who have lost a lot of weight also lost some punch resistance in the process.
Starting to wonder how much weight Ruiz has actually lost : "Physically, he's very prepared," said Abel Sanchez on Sunday night. "If you've seen some of the clips that they've been sending from over there, he was walking taller, he looks thinner, he might be only 255 by fight time. But he's so much more trim and solid."
This is a Good sign. Like I've always stated, win lose or draw he's going to be Parkers toughest challenge to date. And I'm sticking to my guns.
Agreed as well. He was sparring with Gassiev for this too.... he is likely to be a different beast to old Andy. Has all the potential to be the best heavyweight fight this year
I'm personally taking a wind down and breather because my weekend is going to be bat**** insane but the schedule could be worse Friday evening: A couple of quiet after work rums, if they're good enough I'll probably come here for some prefight bants before bed. Saturday morning: 15k run then pack bags Saturday afternoon: Drive into town, catch a plane to Auckland, have an early dinner Saturday evening: Watching some fighting, get drunk / a combination of the two. and then head to Vector Arena to watch some people fight! Sunday: Fly back to Wellington, drive home, check the forum in hope of maximum level banter!
