Well I'm not gonna bury myself in trying to objectively measure intent. You see it as intentional, I say it's impossible to know that for sure. That's why we have refs - to make those decisions - and rightly or wrongly he saw no reason to DQ Lewis. As a result, he won the fight. That said, I'm not here to argue Lewis would have won that fight had it gone the full 12 rounds. I think he was heading for a loss. But who knows? It's all opinion in the end. Which is why this thread is nearly 600 pages and still going strong...

There was no intelligence to what Vitali was doing. He didn't have a clue what he was doing and he never would. He just didn't have a good boxing brain. Lewis was there to be beaten that night, easily. He had no footwork , no timing , no stamina , no gameplan.
A prime Tyson would have shattered him within a few rounds. Holyfield would have Buster'd him.

I did also say that I wouldn't be surprised if he beat all of the top tier fighters in history only to rack up an number of upset losses to lesser fighters. I don't think he was the terminator. To remove his complacency and arrogance would be the same as saying if Amir Khan had a great chin. I don't try and change fighter's attributes to suit an agenda.
