No, didn't Ruiz catch Arlovski with a headshot? I remember seeing them sparring on YouTube.

It was Gilbert Yvel, only had a few UFC fights but a bad ass kickboxer that I seen do some crazy things in sparring, he hated to spar Ruiz though.

Ahhh.... Good old Yvel, crazy dude... Doesn't surprise me that he fancied his chances against Ruiz in the gym. Yvel could and still can bang a bit though. He's been around for a long time and has pretty much faced everyone.

Yvel is bad boy and made people hate life in sparring, he hated life sparring with Ruiz though, all with a smile on Ruiz face.

Btw I seen Yvel spinning jump kick KO people falling out of the ring, Yvel is one athletic big guy!

Who are you picking to win this and how? Obviously we have no crystal balls and nothing will change what happens on the night, just interested in the perspective of someone who has seen things from a different angle to us :)

It's hard to pick a clear winner, both have fast hands and decent power and can throw punches in bunches, Parker have size on his side, I also seen him train harder than Ruiz, Ruiz looks to be in better shape now though.

I think Parker be dec, or possibly by late stoppage but it'll be a lot closer than people think, one of the trainers at our gym picked Ruiz to win...

Cheers - that sounds a lot like how I see it and a lot of people I talk to see it. I know one or two people who have a clue who see Ruiz winning too. Not where my heart is at - but two sleeps to go and it will all become clear :)

Yeah he will still be 245+ easily, Parker isn't even much taller.

The height difference between AJ and Parker is probably bigger, and reach difference is definitely much bigger

Still I feel this isn't a world title worthy fight (admittedly there have been plenty of fights much worse for world straps)

Really? This pic says otherwise: *edit....bloody site won't allow links

The pic of him meeting Ruiz outside Pac's fight in Vegas. Parker looked a good 3 inches taller...

There is a live press conference showing on tvnz online website currently. That will help up gauge things

Well he's the quickest heavyweight since Ali... That takes sacrifice and commitment and lying

    Parker with TKO him 5-7

    This forum is getting ridiculous.

Yeah, the difference between Ruiz and Parker at Las Vegas looked BIGGER than the difference between Dimintrenko (who is taller than Joshua) and Parker

Parker is a short 6ft 4, barely if at all. David Nyika is taller and he's 6ft4, Kali Meehan towered over him and he's 6ft5

Joe is well known for having TRex arms as well and AJ has huge reach.

Let's see them in the ring or at the presser for a more realistic size difference, Joe is an average sized modern heavyweight, Ruiz is meant to be 6ft2

Least we know Ruiz is coming to fight, not just for a pay day...

Would expect a win for Parker but I haven't really seen Ruiz so will have to see.
