His body shots are lethal and every time he is up close with u he just controls the tempo. It feels like he revels in the inside back and forth aspect of the inside game. Any thoughts?

Ok I didn't even consider ward to be honest considering how inactive he's been but yeah I guess he would be considered better.

Haven't seen the likes of him in terms of inside fighting or pressure in awhile. Too many boxers play gun-shy today.

Give him a few years.. He definitely has the potential for that status.

Ward has to be .... I am not a huge fan of his but that's because of his style not his ability.
Spence is still basically untested at elite level as well, Ward has done it against a higher caliber of opposition.

People are dickriding Spence too fast. Who has he beat? A 41 year Bundu and Algieri? Until he has faced elite competition and proven himself year after year to deserve the respect, I do not consider him anywhere near some of the others in his weight class

Leo Santa Cruz. Not as of late, but fights ago he would throw nice hooks to the body constantly.

Golovkin. Not strictly an inside fighter...but he does does it well with mixing his shots up stairs and down.

Omar Figueroa, similar to Porter...simply a pure inside fighter brawler, but does it well.

Spence is going to be a HUGE STAR, great looking kid, smooth as silk boxer with lethal power, can't wait to see how his career goes.

Wards inside game is undoubtedly good but he often stifles himself and his opponent by holding too much, not seen much of Spence but he does seem to revel in a good scrap,I think he's very good and it would seem his peers think the same?

A lot are saying Ward and while he is effective inside, it's very ugly and scrappy. When I think of proper inside fighters, people who can fight in a phone booth and not be ugly/scrappy, I think of someone like James Toney. Corrales/Castillo was an other excellent of example of actual inside fighting. At the moment, Spence is pretty good, but does leave himself open. He got caught a few times clean by Bundu, who if he had more power, might have made things very interesting.
