I think there in lies the problem,i think in reality a lot of those rounds were even but for some reason judges don't seem to like scoring even rounds,I guess it's human nature depending on who you like to want to score a close round to one or the other but so many of those rounds just looked so even to me.

 

Ah fukkit. Punchstats are a sorry way of scoring a fight, but if we're going down the numbers route I'll throw this into the discussion too. These guys are pretty obsessive and use slo-mo post fight to tot up the punches. Bit sad if you ask me, but who am I to judge?

Was close as hell in a lot of those rounds, I could make a case for 3 or more 10 -10 rounds, though I only actually scored 1 that way (mainly cos of the unwritten edict that it's somehow wrong). I think the judges would have been fully justified in this this circumstance.

 

So let's get this straight. Some dude counts punches and then says the people paid to count punches were in the main wrong? And we're meant to believe his stats over CompuBox stats for which reason exactly? He has a Kovalev agenda, that's okay, scoring is subjective and boxing tribal (he's not going to be a Ward fan that's for sure), but claims the official stats had a Ward agenda, with no evidence to support this other than the fact they counted punches differently to him. As an expression of opinion this is fine - he's entitled to view the fight as he so wishes - but as empirical evidence goes, this literally isn't worth the paper it's written on.

And newsflash: he does know CompuBox didn't decided the result, right? So even if his points are valid with regards to these stats, they are IRRELEVANT to the actual result.

And to show what makes me doubt this person's voracity and expertise I include a screenshot of something which makes me think he doesn't really understand boxing very well. I mean what's the significance of this?

Fact that not a single judge awarded Kovalev the 10th, and 2 of 3 denied him the 5th in which he nearly ripped Wards ear off with a double L hook upstairs is all the evidence I needed to know that JayZ gave em each a pin # to an off-shore account.

 

One of the 3 criteria is effective aggressiveness, which Kovalev swept in all 12 rds. Not for a moment was Adre Ward ever the effective agressor.
Hugging isnt defense, and Kovalev slipped as many of Wards shots as Ward did Kovalevs, so defense was close....effective counterpunching, Im of the opinion that Kovalev was the better counterpuncher coming over Wards jab to land his hookjab, and beat Dre to the punch in many if not most of the counters, making him the overall more effective ring generalship winner.

No way to give this fight to Ward without stealing the 10th, 5th and 12th from Kovalev. All 3 in 2 of the 3 judges cards.

 

Interesting website. Context is needed for some of these though. It says Ward's average weight is 166 (What?) but when a fighter has moved up in weight after coming from a long layoff I think you should take that into consideration when making that stat.

When they went on to say Kov hasn't been in there with someone that hits as hard as Ward that was pretty laughable. That whole power segment was...strange. I would love to know what algorithm they are using to quantify these things. Seems pretty questionable if those are the results.

I suppose the colors don't mean anything on their own, but it is funny that, given the way it is written, it looks like they are saying Kov having a draw is somehow a benefit over Ward because Ward has never had a draw lmao.

Those colors in that graph when discussing the punches landed throughout the round confused me and me feel dumb haha.

If Ward can afford everything that Mayeather supposedly had, then everybody can have their own ref, boxing commission, judges...ect There's no real reason for anyone to rig this fight.. If the Panthers and the Browns played tonight, who would waste their time rigging that? It was a 5mill purse right?

 

So your suggesting that Mr. Carter collectively paid more money than he'll get back for having Ward, the guy who fights on BET as you guys like to point out, win this fight? I think he's a great business man who didn't get involved in boxing to lose money trying to make a 'boring' fighter win...

Ive seen these videos already and believe it or not , theres even more videos all over the net with people admitting Ward lost to Kovalev .

Unfortunately , the damage is done already . Boxing lost even more fans due to the result of this fight .

 

Ward won, it was a close fight, move on, get over the butthurt.
