Is Deontay Wilder 1 fight away from being a PPV attraction? Similar to May's rise from 2004-2005?

Not a chance in hell he becomes a PPV attraction. Maybe if he unifies the division (I still have my doubts though.) You should know how PPV works in the states MVC, our HW's don't have the type of fanbase that the UK HW's do in their country/countries.

Those UK fans get behind their fighters from the amateurs. I promise you 99% of the people in the states have no idea who someone like Shakur Stevenson is. They don't even know well-established champions like Ward, Thurman and the likes.

It's been a dying sport in the US for nearly 20 years now. Outside of the hardcore community, it's not followed by the masses here.

If he started axing off top heavyweights and was doing it in the US then maybe. He would need a more impressive performance than what we have seen so far.

No Mayweather had an elite level resume after 37 fights, multi weight world champion with numerous excellent opponents beaten.

    Wilder has beaten.....Stivernne......

MVC has the mentality of a 13yo Beiber fangirl.

His performances have actually been pretty impressive.

I can't think of a boring Deontay Wilder fight I've seen. He's a very exciting heavyweight.

Hell, his last KO win came in a fight where he suffered a broken hand and a torn bicep ... and he still scored an exciting stoppage.

I've seen a lot of guys quit in title fights with a broken hand. I've seen a lot of guys quit with a torn bicep. I've never seen someone score a KO WITH a broken hand AND a torn bicep.

    Wilder's become a helluva fighter.

It would be absolutely hilarious if Eric Molina and Bermane Stiverne (two recent Wilder victims) actually won against Joshua and Povetkin in the next week.

    This board would IMPLODE!!!!!

Sure, if he joins WWE. I'll pay to see him go with John Cena but he's too coward, he'll probably chery pick Santino Marella

I think they love you MVC. lol. Naw, FM and DW are two entirely different animals. Mayweather was fluid, artistic, and looked good when his skills was on display. He looked unbeatable. He was the total package and everybody knew it.

I'm just going by his excitement factor and the fact that the HW is undoubtedly the most exciting division to watch and the most hyped. For good reason!
