Joseph Parker vs Andy Ruiz Jr. & Jeff Horn vs. Ali Funeka RBR.

Close fight. Could easily have been 1 point to Ruiz or Parker. Would have been happy with a draw.

This fight proved Parker is a good fighter but he wouldn't survive in the Tua era.

He is a champ of this era (a champ, not the champ)

Hard loss for Ruiz as he had a pretty simple fight from the start.

Disappointed from Parker as he put this win down to controversy. Ruiz was there to be hit all fight and Parker didn't break him down. Ruiz had no footwork, little head movement and failed to utilise his speed. Parker should and could have done more to seal the victory.

In saying that, a good fight regardless. A close fight is a good fight!

One thing I did get from this fight is that Povektin - Ruiz would be a really great fight.

 

I just think Ruiz is that good!!

 

Hughie Fury will snatch that belt as easy as taking candy from a baby..

 

I think Parker was too concerned about managing pace. Maybe some stamina issues remain.

 

Parker vs Ruiz has just concluded, my good man. Parker won a MD, but looked largely unconvincing and uninspiring. The general feeling here is that Joshua would walk clean through Parker and Hughie Fury would clear UD Parker, based on this showing.

 

Parker has a great right hand if he uses it, but he let the smaller man bully him around. To his credit, he rolled a lot of Ruiz shots.

 

I'd agree if Parker was making him pay while nullifying him. I didn't see that though - Ruiz was landing around the equal of what Parker was landing IMO.

Yeah, I don't like this super-defensive Parker style in big fights. You need boxing skills like Crawford to pull it off at the elite level.

He did slow down after the first 4 rounds or so which most likely cost him the fight...
