I think you're overreacting to be honest, he's still 24 and needs to learn not to fight so ultra-defensively for the big fights. It's like he changes style completely when he thinks the guy across from him is good - never a good idea.

T. Fury would bamboozle him, sure, AJ and Wilder may well KO him, but Ustinov and Duhaupas? Nah, I don't think they're particularly good to be honest.

I always thought the stylistically this was a tough matchup for Joe, Ruiz is very fast and Parker is used to being the faster man in every single one of his previous matches.

Yeah, I think that due to the disparity in reach Ruiz has in comparison to Joshua (74" to Joshua's 82"), in order for Andy to stop Joshua, he would, at times, have to put himself in the firing zone and take some heavy shots against one of the biggest punchers in the division -- but that's not to say it Andy Ruiz couldn't get a close decision or a late stoppage win over Anthony Joshua.

In order to get a close UD, an SD or a late rounds TKO, Andy and his team might well formulate a plan based on messing Joshua around and disrupting his rhythm, boxing off the back foot, slipping and countering, repeatedly digging Joshua's body, and relying on Andy's solid chin and superior engine to take the fight into the late stages (9th round onwards) with a view to Joshua becoming discouraged that Andy is still in there at that stage, Joshua gassing, and Ruiz coming on strong in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th rounds. An extremely high risk strategy, but by no means impossible to pull off.

Joe adjusted well to the challenge in front of him. Ruiz is far more formidable than his appearance would suggest. But boxing never has been a beauty contest.
