Is Deontay Wilder 1 fight away from being a PPV attraction? Similar to May's rise from 2004-2005?

In fairness to MVC he could be right here. If he fights Joshua after whatever can he crushes next that fight will be on PPV.

True, the US needs a heavyweight champion, a good US heavyweight is good for boxing in general.

Why do you think its dead?
The UK doesnt have 40 HWs whereas the USA has nearly 400

Seems funny that the Americans seem to need the Brits to earn big money now.

There are nearly 400. The actual number is 300 and something but it is nearer 400 when in the UK there are less than 40

There was a video out a year ago where Wiler was walking down Times square in NY City. The interviewer asked him basically "are you not wondering why no one is recognizing you? You're the HW champion of the world, you should be a big deal".

No one even knew who the F Wilder was, in his home country! After 3-4 HW title fights. He's simply not a draw at all, zero charisma, abysmal opposition and US fight fans are not buying the hype.

Disagree because Joshua is basically the man in the UK and is slowly becoming known in the us. Faster than wilder I believe.

He's still virtually an unknown, even if pretty big in the UK. It'll likely take several big fights in the US to fully get the fans here behind.

Joshua will be a PPV star... Wilder will not. Wilder is 1 fight away from getting exposed in all likelihood. That's assuming he decides to stop feasting on corpses. Meanwhile Parker who Wilders fanboys love to bash had a way better year resume wise than Wilder. Go figure.

When it comes to big money, America is the place to get it. Always has been. If Joshua and Wilder can make it happen, it will happen in America.

Don't be so sure about that... I can see it being at a UK stadium (the numbers of people prepared to pay to watch AJ live are way higher than those who would pay to see Wilder in the US), but scheduled for prime time TV state side.

It's not about AJ or Wilder, It's about AJ vs Wilder or Wilder vs AJ. All the fight needs is promotion and momentum. Then you will see how many Americans will want to see it. It will catch fire and it will be held in America. No 300 million dollar paydays or even close in coming out of the UK.
