Every time AJ throws a jab his right hand drops a few inches and he has minimul upper body movement. A few faints and a slip from wlad followed by a simple 1-2 could have Joshua sitting on his arse.
AJ will either KO him easily or it will turn into another Wlad v Fury hugfest. Think AJ will do some damage to the old man. The Wlad 2-5 years ago would have been a great fight.
I can't see wlad having a chance here after the Furey "fight". This is Holmes - Ali all over again...
Ring rust and age means i can only see a KO for AJ. This doesn't mean it isn't a top level fight though. Can't wait for it.
I'm amazed at how little credit some people give Fury for beating Wlad. In my opinion, the Fury who turned up that night gives any version of Wlad big problems. The guy is naturally a lot bigger than both AJ and Wlad, and at the same time moves a lot better than both of them. I'm not saying he would definitely beat both of them no matter what, but you can't just dismiss what he brings to the table.
I think this is a big risk for a fighter who has never gone the distance before. Wlad on points for me.
the thing is Wlad isn't stupid, I find it hard to believe he would challenge AJ if he thought he didn't have a chance? I think if he has anything left he has the ability to control the fight with his usual style, which Fury didn't allow but he is a different kettle of fish.
Of course Wlad thinks he has a chance, Joshua is a green as grass and has been in 1 proper, competetive fight his entire pro career (Whyte) where he was staggered and hurt numerous times. Wlad can take this kid into deep waters and drown him, no problem there. Joshua is a good prospect and has a punchers chance. He has real power and athleticism and Wlad is certainly on the downslide, so you can't rule him out, but if Wlad has anything left he'll bully Joshua, beat him with the jab, break him down and once AJ tires take him out. Joshua isn't ready for that kind of a fight right now.
Hard to make a confident prediction because we've never seen AJ fight an opponent anywhere near approaching Wlad's level. Would've liked to have seen him in with better competition this year just to try and get a gauge on it. Will no doubt change my mind more than a few times, but I'll plump for Joshua right now. The timing seems auspicious for him.
All you can say is this a gigantic step up in class.... How an olympic gold boxer can have this many mismatches and be a multimillionaire before stepping up astounds me. Dillian Whyte has a better resume than him after last night.....
Wlad is shot to bits. In his 40's. This is insane. It shouldn't be allowed happen. Too risky. Did you see Wlads "effort" against Fury?
Now THIS is a great post! Tell you what, AJ hasn't learned a SINGLE THING other than that mishap in the Whyte fight. There's been no learning curve to his career.
