In a recent interview. Says it may be time to walk away from the sport. Says that the rematch with Kovalev would have to make sense.

If he would retire right now, I could care less. Wards style is not my style. I believe he gets away with too many dirty tactics. Sucks for Krusher that he lost his titles in a "minor" robbery. I call it minor because of the last 6 rounds of scoring that ALL went to Ward. Those were close and Kov should have gotten at least 2 of them.

Already on YouTube there's an outcry regarding these comments, even from channels that are big Ward fans. Is he bluffing or does he realize that his days at 175 are numbered. If he retires it better be quick. He holds 3 titles and there are talented fighters that should get a shot at being champions.

It'd be cowardly not to grant Kovalev a rematch.

If true, that tells you all you need to know about who he thinks won that fight. It's still weird, because it's not like it wasn't a close fight.

If this is his method of avoiding the rematch then lol. The dude got his 5 million. If he wants out that's cool. 175 is deadly and I think it's a matter of time and until he ends up stretched out on the canvas

LMAO classic, I hope he does retire. If he's got those types of thoughts in his head already then he has no business stepping back in the ring with anyone, your heart and head have to be in the game in this sport. Time to walk away a ATG, still somewhat young & undefeated just like Calzaghe did.

Ward is slipping from a physical perspective, I think that's fairly evident.

He has very few fans and his style is not made to last over the long haul.

I would not be surprised if he retired without rematching Kovalev.

Be clear -- if a rematch happens Kovalev is going all-out for the knockout, at least if the fight takes place in the USA. So Ward will take punishment in such a fight. And taking punishment from a puncher like Kovalev could have long-term effects.

Would be extremely disappointing if he retired. I hope he doesn't think his narrow victory over Kovalev solidifies himself in the HOF. He needs to erase all doubt and do it convincingly for the fans in a rematch.

His style is 'not made to last the long hall' you say?

He has been fighting pro for 12 years.

Honestly, I wouldn't knock him if he did. He's punched his ticket to the HOF and should be set for life now.

I'd be bummed the rematch didn't come off like when Lennox retired without rematching Vitali, but ultimately, this is a brutal sport. If his heart isn't in it anymore and he doesn't need the money, no sense going out there.

Retire? But he's only 32. He's still got more years in him. Like wtf?
