Mismatch in my opinion. Lewis would be too fast, too powerful, too skilled. Valuev was never that good, would be too easy to hit and Lewis would put a beating on him. A shot to hell Holyfield gave him hell, Haye had him stumbling with a single left hook, imagine Lewis landing regularly and I struggle to see how he goes the distance.
Lewis is a HIGHLY skilled SHW . The reason Valuev is even relevant is his SIZE . Hes never actually fought world class guys of 6'5 and 83 inch reach or did i miss something ? lol Lewis would absolutely crush the slow basic giant and it would MAYBE last longer than Golota due to his giant sized cranium ,but the giant falls within 3 rnds .
Valuev had a decent jab, just terribly slow. He was good during the Liakhovich performance, the Holyfield fight seemed like a career worst perfromance. Any way, Nikolai's defence is not good enough to win against Lewis.
Yeah, this is my thinking too...what, with Haye briefly turning the giant's legs to jello in the final round of their bout, just consider what the bigger, badder, more powerful and more purposeful Lennox Lewis would do to Valuev...it's not even pleasant to think about.
Lewis would not be the aggressor in this fight. Having to use those legs more than you're accustomed to and grappling a much bigger man would put Lewis in a situation he's never seen. His stamina was far from top drawer. Lewis should have this but I feel it would be far from a slaughter.
Why would Lewis be on the back foot against a guy who lacks real power? Lewis always took it to the big guys he fought.
Jones jr scored that fight 10-2 for Holy, Al Bernstein 9-2-1, Fat Dan 8-3-1 all for Holy, too. Even Valuev's promoter Sauerland scored it 114-114
