Try speaking to a random guy on the street about who the world champion is.

LSC is a 3 time champ going into the rematch with Frampton. Has he ever beaten a divisional number 1 or lineal champ?

This was another case of experience beating youth. Menard did his best but Beltran had an answer for everything Mason did, utilized his size and strength and set him up perfectly with that left hook. Back to the drawing board.

The thought of a man being exposed due to picking up one loss as well. How often do we see it, not just this thread but any time a prospect loses.

The whole concept of building a 20-0 record against none ranked fighters is wrong imo. Match them in competitive fights from the off.

Does anyone know who the HW champ is right now?

They're an indicator of styles. We know Beltran beats Meyard. That doesn't mean Ricky Burns or Anthony Crolla or Jorge Linares beats him, the problem is now the rebuilding process means he'll like face another 5 or 6 overmatched opponents before his next competitive fight. How many competitive fights has he ever been in before this weekend? Fights were the bookies had it close?

My interest is seeing the best fight each other and having a tangible world championship. Two things that boxing has lost now.

Was it just me or did Beltran seem a lot bigger than Menard in the ring? He looked like 2 weight classes above him

When was Beltran popped for Peds? once they fail that test , i feel like there's always a chance they're trying to gain an edge.

I'm not saying that a loss ruins a fighter (Menard suffered a KO loss earlier in his career), but he took a sustained beating from Raymundo before getting his brain scrambled. Because it was 7 rounds of punishment, I fear it has ruined him. Raymundo looked massive and as someone else said, 2 divisions higher.

    I don't dislike Menard.
He's a solid workman like gatekeeper level with some excellent pop but middling overall skills. Not unlike Joe Smith Jr in the LHW division about to be stopped by BHOP this weekend.

Difference here though is Smith Jr knows he's being groomed to be a showcase retirement fight for BHop whereas Menard in complete contrast was being fed a gatekeeper he was supposed to KTFO en route to being fed to Crawfish.

Menard has potential, he did a rookie mistake by trying to blast out a solid, durable veteran like Beltran, just needs to learn not to do that. Beltran may be alil past his prime, but he's still world class.

Imo beltran is still using peds. He still works with heredia, he's already been popped for winstrol, and he's fighting with crazy strength and stamina at an age when his athletic abilities should be declining. Hope Menard can bounce back as I am a fan. He's been one punch kod before (saw cam footage on yt) so there is a possibility he has the mental makeup to do so.
