I don't get why people seem to like to bash either Lewis or Vitali over this fight.

It was a great fight and did both credit. Lewis showed his toughness and heart to get back into the fight, and Vitali showed how good his boxing skills were before being stopped by an unfortunate cut.

With all due respect, it wasn't an unfortunate cut. Lewis cuts people the same exact way throughout the course of his career. Tyson, Bruno, Morrison etc etc etc were all cut in the exact same places. The difference was that Vitalis skin is just glass compared to theirs.

This is a subtle fact even Lewis fans rarely talk about. Lennox Lewis targets cuts throughout his career, he is usually able to generate some sort of cut against his opponents in the exact same place Vitali was cut. The difference once again was that Vitali have a utterly pathetic skin protection shield. Lewis was even shocked at how easily Vitali cuts.
