According to Loeffler the fight is close to being made before the purse bid, one things for sure if it isn't announced by 12/19 then I expect GGG to vacate I don't think k2 will wanna bid against Haymon and risk losing.

If it does get made, finally GGG will have a good name on his resume, not sure what the hell they are think putting this on ppv but I guess they gotta pay Jacobs what he wants somehow.

I expect a GGG Ko, Jacobs whilst being explosive and powerful lacks the jab/footwork to outbox GGG and lacks the chin to bang it out with him. Thoughts anyone think Loeffler is being real?

I think Jacobs will vacate if it goes to a purse bid, K2 are only giving Jacobs 25% then so can and will bid high. I know GGG can't afford to lose the purse bid but I don't think Haymon is willing to spend ridiculous money any more. He even let Povetkin take Wilder to Russia ...

I'm cautiously optimistic here, I think at the very last moment one side will make concessions, either GGG to 40% or Jacobs to 35%. Probably does about 200k buys if it's $59.95.

I also expect a GGG KO, I think Jacobs is quite good but doesn't have the chin.

I assume Loeffler's right that it's close. I'd rather we didn't have the tease of public negotiations, but that's what boxing is these days. He's putting it out there to pressure Jacobs and Haymon to close the deal. If Loeffler's confident they should concede a bit more of the purse than they'd prefer.

I agree that Jacobs has the speed and solid power to put up a good fight for a while, but not the footwork, strength, and chin to survive the Golovkin attack. GGG will put him to sleep mid rounds.

I think k2 will back out, Haymon can put this on showtime ppv whereas GGG can only fight on HBO it seems. You could be right but it's probably better for k2 it doesn't get to there so they will probably make more concessions with Jacobs now. Povetkins promoter is probably the richest in boxing he took Vlad out of Germany so he's not someone you bother bidding against.

I think it does 150k HBO ppv are finished in my opinion, no one wants to hear Lederman and Lampley biased commentary and bull**** score cards.

That's a fair point, we'll see though as the damage to GGG by vacating might well be more than fighting on Showtime and getting sued by / settling money with HBO.

Maybe you're right, although this one won't go to the scorecards I think. Both are very powerful.

GGGs team really need to secure this fight another year of fighting Johnson, khytrov etc is not gunna help his career. Canelo will be gone till September after the chavez fight which is when a lot people think this GGG-Canelo fight will pop off.

I just hope it's not on Showtime, because we in Canada don't get the Showtime fights.

PPV or not, this fight needs to get done. Gennady would have an A grade name on his resume.

Golovkin wouldnt vacate if K2 won the bid for $1.
Jacobs is trying to back out being offered 650K more than he's ever made.

Actually, Murray having beaten Sturm, Martinez and Abraham is an A grade name.
Lemiuex, in spite of his poor performance vs Alcine and gassing vs Rubio, tore up the division afterwards and won the IBF title. He's an A grade name.
Brook, fwiw, handily carried 170lbs into the GGG fight and gave GGG fits while having a broken orbital early on to which he could not continue in the close fight. Also......an A grade name.
Ouma was spent by the time he and GGG fought, but he was A grade, as was Rubio once upon a time.

Jacobs, Lemieux & Murray would be a very good resume.
