For sure Jacobs would rather avoid this fight if it doesn't double his highest pay day but we will see if the fight isn't signed by next Monday all we will be answered.
It's a decent resume he still needs Canelo Saunders and maybe a bigger guy on his resume then he will have an A grade resume.
Wtf none of those guys are A grade lol Murray is a c+, b- at best he couldn't beat any of the over hill champions and Lemieux lost to Rubio for Christ sake that's a joke. He went life and death with n'dam a guy that Quillin splattered.
Haymon doesn't have the resources to win a purse bid for a Jacobs fight. He is being sued by his investors. When was the last decent fight Haymon put on? NBC is not even going to allow him to do time buys anymore. Think about that for a minute. NBC isn't going to take money to show Haymon's fights. How bad is it when someone will not take money from you? As far is this being PPV I will not buy it and I suspect I am not alone.
It won't be 500k like they sold in the UK against Brook, but it will be most likely more than 160k. Not difficult though, if you consider his PPV event as a Kazakh in the US against a Canadian did 150k.
So mares/cuellar ain't a good fight, what about Charlo/Williams, frampton/Cruz that's some of Haymon fights coming up not mention Garcia/Thurman these are great fights.
Indeed I watch every fight worth watching. But anyone should prefer watching boxing on their big screen TV in HD.
If Haymon was going to make a strong bid that was likely to win for the GGG-Jacobs fight he would have already done it instead of agreeing to multiple purse bid delays. Haymon isn't going to waste money on Jacobs. Why would he make a decent bid for a fight that he knows his fighter has little chance of winning? Garcia/Thurman should have happened over a year ago. Lost interest in it.
Haymon isn't going to overpay for a fight unless it's in-house. It makes no personal financial sense for him to do so. Why? He gets management fees off each fighter when he controls both, which is exactly why he over spent on in house fights in the first place. That's why he didn't try to bankroll Wilder vs Povetkin, and it's why he won't bankroll this. Every dollar he pays the more expensive fighter (which is the same as the one he doesn't manage) is a dollar he's not making management fees on. So, he'll let K2 handle the purse and take his management cut from Jacobs without spending any of PBC's money (whatever is left of it). The upshot is we're going to see him willing to let his fighters fight other stables in big fights...so long as it's the other stable funding it. He's not writing the big checks unless he controls both parties.
