How big a payday is is relative to the fighter in question. To Errol Spence GGG's 5m payday against brook is massive. The point I'm making is that Canelo's paydays in other fights will be significantly less than what this fight will bring. Just the same as GGG. So why does it make it okay for Canelo if this fight doesn't happen and not okay for GGG?

 

That's obvious his fight purses will be significantly less with different fighters than GGG. But my whole point is if GGG loses that aura of invincibility the fight itself isn't going to have that same type of hype behind it. Canelo doesn't need GGG TO make big money, GGG needs Canelo.

 

Why dont they offer GGG 30%??? Seems like a fair split .

Because Canelo if he chooses can always move back down to 154 if he wishes and fight some of the stars of the 147 pound division who will eventually move upto 154 for big money Fights anyways .. Who's going to move up from 154 to 160 besides Canelo who's going to give GGG that big money payday especially if he loses? Nobody..

 

ggg earning his namesake as the triple ducking coward. He can't turn down this money. Golden Boy standing to lose money because the ppv market is anemic, g better get that money.

 

GGG is making decent money right now so I don't see the problem. Regardless, GGG isn't denying the fight just because he isn't accepting the offer 9 months out from the fight. He's in the final stages of negotiations with Jacobs and people are still worrying about Canelo. Some people feel like he should accept Canelo's off right now but GGGs teams teams clearly think it's best to wait. That's all that can be said about it. I don't understand while people are getting upset when the fight is looking more and more like it's going to happen.
