It's the whole 40m flat offer BS over again. Yes it's a career high payday and a lot of money but that doesn't mean this isn't GBP trying to pull Golovkin's pants down.

The 165 fight they're proposing is also pretty shameless.

Golovkin is not the draw Canelo is by any stretch of the imagination.

Wtf is wrong with fighting at 165 for an exhibition bout? Canelo already stated he's done witj JrMW and Oscar already sent Ggg a contract for the fight at 160.

Don't let your hate impair your logic.

Seems that way doesn't it? He seems to be the only fighter unwilling to do whatever it takes to make a meaningful fight happen.

    Wtf is K2 thinking.

I don't hate Canelo. Until he started all of this Canelo-weight BS I was a big fan of his. I gave him great credit for defying Oscar and making the Trout and Lara fights.

The whole 'I'm not really a middleweight' crap really pissed me off as it was to then have a fight at 165 when you claim you're too for 160 is annoying. He's been dicking around hoping Golovkin gets old. I gave him a chance of winning before he made it so apparent how much he didn't want the fight.

Then there are shades of the Mayweather offer to Pac which many claimed was a great deal at the time. Put simply it wasn't. Just sign a percentage off as per usual in this kind of fight and get it on.

Is the fight going to be at 160 or does G Baby need to cut weight? Is the fight going to be for G's 160 belts if the fight is under the 160 limit? These are the type of details that can derail a fight. That being said, G should take the money and kick some serious ass! This could be a great fight and I don't see either man running through the other, no matter what the weight is. I just hope it's a straight up 160 fight with no catch weight nonsense.

And Pacquiao ducked when he didn't take the career high payday of $40 million flat fee. Just offer a fair split percentage wise and fight.

    This is not like May-Pac.
It is more like Oscar-May or May-Canelo, where the clear A side dictates the term and offers guarantee.
Actually I don't care how the get it done, I just want to watch the fight, so whatever method to get it done, I agree with.

Not quite the same scenario, may-pac when it was originally proposed was before pac got knock the f out. At the time both are A side, where neither can dictate the term.

It'll generate about 90 mil after HBO takes their PPV split, and about 80 mil after the undercard fighters, rental fees for the stadium, etc from what Ive seen based on 50 K attendance and 1 mil buys @$69.00

Now, give GGG 15 of that and take 30% for trainer/sparring partners/camp expense and K2s % and MGR % and GGG walks away with about 9.

Yeller pays about the same from his 45 mil and walks away with 45.

Good post! Remember , anything can be negotiated. Why not take the 15mil offer and have a rematch clause with a percentage split of 40% worked in. If the first fight is good and pulls high numbers there is no reason to think that the rematch wouldn't do as well or better. G could make 30-40 mil for 2 fights!!!

Its a good offer, The only odd thing is that it isn't to fight him next and its to fight in September, however i believe that if they stand firm on this offer GGG will accept sometime closer to September, if he doesn't its a massive duck, I can understand him not accepting right now for a fight nearly 10 months away.
