Good call on Smitty CST. Feel pretty stupid now going with the senior citizen.
But you gotta admit, he's pretty basic. Not really a guy you'd favor over any of the top dogs.

 

Choked this week.

 

Basic as compared to who? Smith still seemed a little green, but didn't look half bad to me. He had good punch variety, power, good reach, heart, determination, and focus. He showed he was more formidable than guys like Cloud and Shumenov were against Hopkins. I hope he got a good enough pay day tonight that he can quit his union job, and focus on boxing. The guy is what he is without putting the gym time in that a lot of other guys do. I think he is some upside, if he gets with a top level trainer, and puts the time in.

 

Yeah I took a few Ls the last few weeks myself.

 

Cloud and Shumenov, two guys that got beaten by Campillo and needed crooked judges to bail them out.
And that was a much better and years younger version of B-Hop as well.
He's clearly no match for Beterbiev, Kovalev or even Ward.

 

He looked to be on his way to being stopped in a round or two by Fonfara. He looked outclassed there, until his right hand from right field.

He's alright, but I don't think he's going very far. I think his abilities are flattered by the limitations of his last two opponents more than anything.

 

I'm just saying he has some raw ability, that could be worked into something better if he put the time in.
