Out of the heavies his year was the best by a considerable margin. Joshua is the clear #2.

5-0 with notable wins over Takam and Ruiz. Puts the rest of the division to shame with his resume and activity...

What about Rostislav Plechko 9-0 9 Ko's, turned pro in February .9 fights in 10 months , has fought in 5 different countries already.. Russia, France, Latvia. Estonia. Finland & has looked very impressive. He's certainly gotta be the HW prospect of the year anyway.

I like him, but he hasn't got to world level yet so isn't really in contention for FOTY.

There are quite a lot of prospects fighting every month to build up experience, it will be what he does next that determines how far he will go.

Wins over Takam, Dimitrenko and Ruiz.

Pretty great year compared with any others.

I agree although I haven't been impressed. At least he is fighting solid opponents.

Yeah, Joshua would be the only other heavy who would come close- and I think I'd take Ruiz Jr and Takam over any of the three fighters that AJ faced.

His activity level and quality of comp is second to none. His performance at that level isn't as impressive. I guess I'd go with AJ for foty by default in a very disappointing year.

Can't really bag him for not having as dominant wins against higher levels of competition. If Parker was fighting with the same frequency and winning like Joshua is beating lower tier guys then he'd be looking like an ATG in the making, quickly. He's looking likely to face Hughie Fury now that Wilder is confirmed to be dodging, so he's still not having a break - what's to beat Wilder pummels #12 contender and Parker goes tooth and nail with a top 3 contender (not sure how the WBO shake up looks now) and assuming Parker beats Fury people will STILL act like he's a second rate champion.

Parker hasn't even defended yet and he's done more champ-worthy stuff over the last year or so than Wilder has. Hell, his completely unnecessary "keep busy" fight against Dimitrenko would be a valid defense for Wilder.

So are you basing this on competitive fights? Parker sqeeked by a much shorter guy in stature whos not a full time athlete . Joshua obliterated a guy who nearly k.od Wilder . If your going by perfect fighting but sorrty Parker has nothing on Joshua . I think honestly Whyte showed more improvement than anyone , and hes about where i said he would be from a year ago .

I'd say activity, and quality wins. Not a single fight, but consistent fights and wins throughout the year. He's done more this year worth note than anyone else.

BTW, on paper Parker and Ruiz are closer in height than Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora.

Not really bc Ruiz is shorter than Chisora ,Both Parker and Whyte are 6'4 . Joshua also wanted Wlad ,you can only fight so many guys ,Joshua has been just as active but had better performances ,ones i dont believe Parker would duplicate . I think Joshua would demolish Ruiz . I would look at either performances or fighter growth which would be Whyte who is now legitimately top 10 . Parker could be but a set criteria should be made , as you get more experience the fights also come slower ,some once a year .

    • Charles Martin = absolute joke of a champion
    • Dominic Breazeale = 17 and 0 at the time I think and fought nobodys till he met Joshua, Ruiz 29 and 0 way more fights
    • Eric Molina = did this guy come forward like Ruiz? Was this guy undefeated like Ruiz? Is it difficult to seperate this guy from the joke Charles Martin
Anyway those are Joshuas three fights this year.

Both Joseph and Anthony are world champions and I respect them both but Joseph worked harder this year at the top level.

Tough fights....this sort of experience helps in the long run. AJ hasn't had his smile wiped off his face yet post Whyte. It's all a gift so far, with ridiculous money flying at him.

What happens if he gets a live body in front of him??? We will find out, as hopefully WK throws his hands.

You are right with Whyte and Parker but where do you get the idea Ruiz is shorter than Chisora? Ruiz is 188cm and Chisora is 187cm.... I may be missing something but where I'm from that makes Ruiz taller, even if just slightly

Parker would knock Wilder out....................Lewis picks Vlad to beat Joshua, Vitali said that if Vlad is 100% he will beat Joshua easily..................
