Do you think Demetrius Andrade is overrated and can defeat Charlo, Canelo and GGG

I've been lurking on this forum for a while now. Things seem to be a lot more civil now than it was in the past so i decided to join today. I like the 154lb division and believe it is one of the most talented in the sport. After watching Andrade demolish Willie Nelson like no one else did before; i thought to myself this kid has potential. But then i decided to do some research today and came across his fight (albeit highlights) with Martirosyan.

Now say whatever you want but to me it looked like he struggled and he has SOOO MANY FLAWS. Firstly, his footwork is all over the place. His punch selection whilst good leaves him very open to counter punches since he punches so wide. His legs are too far apart which limits his movement. And he uses a SOUTHPAW PHILLY SHELL again ORTHODOX FIGHTERS!! that's just ridiculous as one good right hand will knock this dude spark out.

This fight revealed a lot to me but what suprises me most is that people think this guy will beat Canelo, either Charlo and Golovkin. I will give him a chance against Jermell Charlo, However Jermall Canelo and especially Golovkin will destroy this guy. Do you think he is overrated.

Certainly some people are overrating him yeah. He's too inactive and has fought absolutely no one yet! It took him 7 rounds to dispose of a total chinny bum in Brian Rose.,went the distance with another chinny bum in Freddy Hernandez, and only got a split decision win over the average Vanes which could have gone either way.

I thought his performance against Rose was fairly decent but Rose is nowhere on the same level of Vanes who he struggled against. Plus Rose put up a good performance against one of GGGs best wins in Matthew Macklin.

I just think its a hipster thing where a relatively unknown up and comer like Andrade is getting praise despite his resume to make hardcore seem like they know more about boxing. The dude is flawed as **** and no one can refute otherwise, they just need to look at the fight against the only good win on his resume in Martirosyan.

Macklin was totally totally shot mate when he fought Rose! hence why he retired straight after the fight

Rose is domestic British level... With feather fists and a bad chin... Any top prime world class fighter would walk through him easily in 3 rounds.

yep you are spot on with hipster thing regarding Andrade..

Martirosyan is a very good fighter though who's also done well vs Lara and would probably do well vs Canelo too

Boo boo did not get exposed he just got caught cold. Techinically he still won the 1st round on punches landed etc.

I think he will be a force in 154 once charlo moves up. Canelo won't fight him as Canelo is now mando to BJS for the WBO 160 strap.

Everything in Canelo history suggests to me that he would very likely get outclassed against Andrade

Floyd gave that boy a boxing lesson

Lara gave that boy a boxing lesson

He went life and death against Trout and barely scraped a win.

He was behind on the scorecards and was
getting clearly outboxed by Amir Khan.

Thats right there is all i needed to see.

Canelo still has not learn how to deal with Pure boxers and continues to struggle badly.

Andrade would school him in a fight. Im very confident of that.

im one of the most honest and least racist people you wil ever encounter on here my brother.

    Ive said it many times..

    Kovalev spanked Ward

    Kovalev was robbed

I hope Joe Smith becomes successful in his boxing career after his KO of Hopkins.

Ima supporter of fighters like Amir Khan, Spence and Loma as an example.

    3 entirely different fighters.

There are many racist posters on here who only root for fighters based on skin color.

    Sadly that is the truth.

Im not one of them and never will be.

As a matter of fact, why dont you prove to me how im racially biased based on my post history.

Feel free to pull up any of my post to help and build your argument.

Who has Andrade fought to make you think that though? He is soo flawed and makes many defensive mistakes that Canelo has proven to exploit time and time again.

The reason you can point out Canelo's weaknesses is because he has actually been tested against skilled fighters (even though they are smaller than him).

Andrade only looks like a beast because hes fighting peach cans and the only time he stepped up vs Martirosyan (ill add the Nelson win as a good win for him) he looked overrated.

Funny enough i can seem to find most of Andrades full fights on youtuve except the Vanes one just the highlight video i posted. Perhaps his team are hiding something

It is not so much as Andrade being over rated as it is Martirosyn being under rated. The man can fight, he just happened to be on the short end of some close fights.

Claiming that Andrade's team is hiding something because you can't find his fight with Martyrosian, is one of the most ignorant arguments i've ever read.
If you can't find a fight of this decade that was televised, it's because copyright problems, but if you knew a thing or two about collecting footage, you would know that YouTube isn't the place to find recent fights and that the team of the boxer never uploads the fight unless the fight is uploaded by the broadcaster himself (hbo, showtime, pbc).

Vanes has been a tough out for pretty much every top tier guy at JMW, so Andrade beating him is a nice accomplishment at the weight.

But that's just one good fighter under his belt. He's been very inactive as well, so it's hard to tell how he'd fare with the best guys at 154 and 160. But judging from what I've seen, he's definitely a skilled fighter, just unproven at this juncture. He can talk a good game FWIW.
