I would laugh my ass off if Billy Bob let's it come to pursebids. I would certainly do that in his case.
Even if they promise him 10 million, because he can earn so much more due to him getting the bigger cut as champion.

WBO making Canelo the mandatory challenger is exactly what is wrong with boxing!
The behaviour of fighting nobodies for titles and defending against nobodies and ducking the biggest challenger is BEING INCENTIVISED.

Screw GGG haters. They're pathetic racists and nothing short of that.
Even WBO is DUCKING Golovkin. I want to see Saunders-Canelo, but not like this.

If Sanders really prepares and he trains to the best of his ability he can outbox Canelo. He is taller and has more reach. He is also fast when in top shape. I think they are the same age also.

Very possible, so it's a bit of a gamble. But if he really wants it, then BJ holds all the cards.

I like Sanders but not the way he is holding the title. He is so talented. He could have fought and defended the title with 3 big names and get 3 big paydays. Now maybe only 1

Saunders is very talented but unfortunately is a 6-round fighter, he simply doesn't have the stamina and conditioning to fight his own style for a full 12 rounds.

In both the Eubank and Lee fights he loses almost every round from round 7 onwards. If he could fight for 12 rounds then I would make him firm favourite to beat Canelo.

If Billy is serious about improving after his last fight, he needs to get out of Marbella and hire a new fitness and conditioning team and concentrate on that for the next 6 months because I don't think there's many people who could outbox him when he is on form.

I think Sanders is the worst thing that happened to GGG unifying the middle weight division. I like both fighters but man did he slow down GGGs plans lol

BTW Andy Lee would have fought GGG right away.

Canelo is still going to dictate the terms, so don't get your hopes up.

Very true, but also remember that Billy Joe is very hard to deal with. I don't think Canelo fans should get their hopes up either. Actually this news doesn't change anything unless BJS gets stripped.

Even a routine defence vs GBP's Rosado couldn't be made earlier this year ....

P.S. I was highly critical of the WBO earlier, but apparently (according to Dan Rafael) they have a rule that gives the champion of a lower weight division (154 in this case) the mandatory challenger spot for the next division up (160) if so desired. Anyone can confirm or deny?

Yeah I think that's true about the WBO and the way they run things. I know I've heard it before, but maybe if you go to their website, you can find out more info on it.

In all honesty, I can't recall a Star fighter ever be dictated to, by a lower tier champion regardless of mandatory status' or anything of that nature. I don't see why it would happen now. Also if GBP offer BJS 5 mill he'd jump all over it imo.
