Grebs record vs lt heavyweights is unquestionable. Why he generally is not rated in this division is his weight.....he was not a light hwt and the fact that with all his success he never won the worlds light hwt championship.
Possibly due to the 'fact' he was never afforded the opportunity to fight for that title....???? I think he would have been a solid favorite to win it according to his record.
The facts are when one puts together a top ten list it would GENERALLY be titles "top ten world light hwt champions". Since Greb never won that title he would automatically be excluded from that list regardless of the reason.
Then I suppose some historian's grading criteria and evident reality are different categories...I would choose evidential reality as to being the more factual approach personally.
The idea is if a fighter was never the champion he can't be rated in a top ten ATG champion listing. Charlie Burley is another example. Greb however was middleweight champion and is rated very high in this category.
Boxing historians and those with great knowledge have always understood and known that Charles is one of the best ever LHW talents.
