Will you be back posting on here a bit more in 2017 Marty? You've gone awful quiet lately....

We could do with another Bernard Dunne. I think then there would be countless posters on here. Maybe Mick Conlan and Jason Quigley can lead the way to a bigger interest next year.

Not that he wasn't a very nice boxer, albeit China chinned but we have several today who are much beter, they just not from Dublin.
The talent pool has never been deeper. Cheers and happy new year Marty.

Brian Peters promotions is what is missing not a dunne like boxer,
Peters had three or four headliners andy lee ,Matt macklin,Paul mc closkey even Coyle in mayo,
The current crop are as good of not better but we are lacking the big promoter in the South, one thst has the backing to put their shows on live TV,

The thing is will RTE ever show such an active interest again. And will someone like Peters ever emerge again. It seems highly unlikely atm.

Such a shame that MGM were killed off at birth ...effectively banned in this country. Totally typical knee jerk over reaction...throwing the baby out with the bath water.
If a bank was robbed would they close all the banks?

Rte were given their chance to bail out when casey fought rigo, we all came out screaming it was a disgrace it wasn't been shown, and created such a fuss they had to show what they knew to be a ridiculously badly matched fight,
What we didn't know was Peters or rather honky dory used to pay rte 30k+ to show his fights and dolphil thought they were going to get paid to allow it be shown,
What happened was a costly loss for rte and the end of boxing on the local TV,and the end of Brian Peters promotions in Ireland,

What do people think of peters?
Has anyone met him or known him?
Never met him but he doesn't come across as a friendly likeable or approachable guy to me.

i was at a fight in castlebar breaffy house i was staying there so was around some of the boxers etc late into the night Peters was there,
At 4am a fight was on t from the states pac was fighting cant remember who aaannyway two lads see the odds of the fight and reckon the odds against pac were good, i **** you not peters took out receipts from his pocket and covered the bets, the two lads were down a couple of quid at the end of the fight,
i thought to myself another big night over money made and he still couldnt pass up the chance of securing another 40 quid, still not sure if i was impressed or disgusted,
