He lost two controversial decisions to Flowers, a man he'd reportedly beaten already.

He lost decisions to Tunney and Gibbons but he'd also beaten them.

He lost by DQ to Norfolk but also beat him.

As a WW he was knocked out by Chip who was a stone heavier, of course after putting weight on he beat him also.

The only loss he never avenged was a broken arm in a fight he was winning.

You do realize that if one has 300 bouts, there will be losses in there... especially in an era of no video, no scouting, riding trains overnight to fight the next day, no time to recuperate from injury.
