Benny Lynch vs Jackie Brown II never gets mentioned in these discussions when it should be one of the first on the list. Two rounds of pure beat down.

There's was a fight discussed on a thread some time ago from the 1950s, I think, it caused a national scandal because it was televised. A guy getting absolutely battered early on, decked and looking dead as he went down multiple times, and allowed to continue. Klompton's seen it and confirmed how shocking it is.
I can't remember who it is, it was a name fighter against someone not so well known .......

Billy Collins Jr v Luis Resto, horrible beatdown, and Collins committed suicide afterwards.

Davey Moore-Duran. Both of these fights have been mentioned.

    What about Gatti-Gamache? Or Cotto-Malignaggi?

Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko. I never saw a more exciting heavyweight fight and I never seen a man take the punishment that Wlad did that fight. Brutal.

In truth Paret death was due to the brutal fight schedule he had. Paret was extremely durable, he just fought so often against brutal punchers. Prior to his 3rd fight with Griffith, he fought middleweight champ Gene Fullmer in a tremendous brawl, finally being KOed. Fullmer stated he had never hit a man as hard and as often as he had Paret. So brutal was the fight that Fullmer took the next 10 months off. As for Paret, 3 1/2 months later he would die in the ring vs Griffith.

The fight was the 3rd fight between Griffith and Paret. Paret called Griffith a *** at the weigh-in (which he was).

Ali against Holmes, at the time they likely didn't know the full story, but the beating he took in the state of health he was in was truly sickening. It's the only fight that has left me in tears after watching it. I hope Dundee and his team were ashamed of themselves for allowing him to take all that punishment. Ferdie Pacheco said that fight completely finished what was left of Ali.
