Having a look on BBOC site 63 out of the 105 area titles available are vacant, some of the 42 held are with people who don't actually box any more. Appears Southern area with 12/15 are the only area that really have a focus on them. Is this a direct result of these international and british masters titles or are boxers bypassing the area to move straight to English/British level? With 10 rounds and local pride at stake i'd think these titles would be an ideal way to get experience for propsects and win a belt that means something in your area
Is there anything the Southern Area could pass on to get them back up in the eyes of the other areas? Much like a domestic match up there is nothing like a local derby
The problem is u can't force the fights. My cuz had a nightmare trying to get an opportunity for the midlands title. Board made him mandatory for title with English title on line also the champ retired. Then others turned it down waiting for him to move up to English title level. The masters titles r good if used correctly but some camps use them to dodge tougher area title fights.
Who was your cousin if you don't mind me asking? Just seems a waste their good 10 rounder, local interest with a reputable belt on the line Im not a huge fan, wouldn't run them down but weights are all over with them and only 8 rounders, I'd concede probably nice step up in rounds for some lads
Chris male mate. Was 13-2 lost to Warrington points (english title) and was stopped by troy james (British eliminator). Warrington was 5th kid put against him for English title at purse bids
