Jacobs is probably the best 160 has to offer but overall he's a subpar fighter, as is the rest of the division pretty much. I know ppl want to hype his comp to make GG look better, but truthfully nobody he's fought is consider a good fighter. You go through his wins and most guys claim to fan is losing to the man and never being one, the Quillin win was good for Danny but besides that what is there to point to saying he's top quality. Still best fight to make at 160 so it's good the fight came off, I give Jacobs a punches chance but with his chin problems he likely gets taken out in entertaining fashion.
But OTOH Lemiuex would not likely have got Quillin out of there as quickly as Jacobs did. Honestly I think Jacobs is at a similar level to Lemiuex, his chin is more suspect but I think he's a little bit more skillful. He only has one loss to a very good fighter in comparison to Lemiuex's two losses pre-Golovkin.
.......GGG already beat 11 top10, including 5 world champs, 17 defenses so 3 wins more to b-hop's record, highest ko percentage ever among middleweight champs, p4p top 3 in all rankings, never even been down in almost 400 fights, Amateur legend 345-5, olympic silver medal, world amateur gold, AND finally ducked by everyone. Boxers that ducked/ducking GGG, fyi all of these are/were world champs. 1. Sturm --- wouldn't fight him for over 2 years when GGG was mandatory to him. 2. Quillin --- said he will only fight for the may-pac kind of money, lol + he flew to Haymon to avoid GGG 3. Martinez --- "His promoter said that "no way I am putting him with this monster", GGG kept calling him out after his U.S. debut after every fight 4. Cotto --- ducked his mandatory(GGG) twice by fighting Geale and Canelo 5. Chavez jr --- Turned down 12mil offer by TR for 2 fights 6. Canela --- Avoided his mando(GGG). Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG. There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple. And then he dropped the belt when he had to fight GGG next, wow 7. Froch --- After calling GGG out then when GGG accepted ,he backed down and now he is retired after making all the fuss, + GGG was calling him for more than a year b4 he was retired so no excuses for "retiring". Carl said in a SkySports interview he will swerve GGG like the plague, he punches like a mule and there's no point getting in the ring with someone like him. 8. Ward --- The diva of the 168lb division don't want to travel or meet the a-side GGG in a catchweight so he can become a good boy and get ktfo. Was willing to goto 160 for Floyd but when GGG said 164, Ward ducked + he was fine when Dawson came down a whole division for him but wont move half a division for GGG, smh 9. Saunders --- Even before winning the WBO title from Lee his fear of Golovkin was as biright as day this is just one of many interviews( This content is protected ), then after winning it he priced himslef out at 6 mil$. Then turned down $3.2mill offer from k-2(its 2.2 gbp) 10. Eubank jr --- Very similar to Froch's duck of GGG, after calling GGG out he lost his pen when he had to sign 11. Njikam --- When Hassaan was WBO champ, he was ordered to a purse bid to face Golovkin no less than two times and he was a no show each time. 12. Barker --- When Barker defeated Geale to become IBF champ, his promoter openly said that he will fight any1 except GGG, Golovkin offered to fight him in England practically free, his only demand was for them to give Team Golovkin 10 FREE tickets, Barker ducked. 13. Mundine --- Another blatant ducker, google it. 14. Soliman --- Soliman won the IBF title in 2014 from Sturm, immedietly after winning the title he called out GGG, then GGG fought his countryman Geale. He saw the fight and changed his mind stating he will NOT fight GGG after what he saw. 15. Zbik --- Just like sturm, protected by Universum.
I've never seen a fighter get more credit for who they haven't fought than ggg. Fan boys say everyone ducked him but a real atg warrior will seek out the best if they don't come to him. I really hope one of these bums lands a lucky Ko I'm sick of watching this guy run through the wasteland that is the mw division
I reckon Jacobs is one of the best guys GGG has stepped into the ring with. He's got legit cannons for punches and with that sort of firepower, you never know. Golovkin should be favoured, yes, but it's by no means inevitable that he wins. If he tries to play the fool with Jacobs, he will get his clock cleaned. Conversely, there's a fair bit of doubt about Jacobs' chin. He's going to have to box well himself. This is going to be a great fight.
It's a decent fight nothing major, GGG vs top contender. Don't let the hype fool you, this ain't PPV material.
Not so much defending Jacobs more defending Jacobs as an opponent. That often indicates a real lack of threat when the opposite camp talk a fighter up rather than down...
Uncle Abel is just getting cheap heat from all the boxing marks out there. In this case as you noticed he is using the reverse psychology angle.
Blissymissy...No one can say Jacobs is not a credible opponent...so when he is dispatched in quick fashion all the masturbaters here can kneel & to GGG...whitey
Whatever the level of threat, I hope Jacobs at least gives it a good go like Brook did. His stock went up for essentially having one good round. As previous fights have shown, going into survival mode from the get-go doesn't work...
