Anyone know if a venue/Date has been sorted for this fight yet? I know if can't get a deal by 4/01/17 then it goes to purse bids. Thought it would be relatively easy to get chudinov over here (He came over to fight Buglioni).
World title shot for groves are like dominos pizza giving em away If he cannot get this he should retire
Tbf so many get undeserving shots but groves ok watch usual in decent fights etc but why retire if lose ? Think far too many boxers are afraid to lose all ever is is talk retirement many fighters become better after a loss or two not end world
George and his fans logic Why was there a need for froch to retire after the fight Just holding him to him and his fans own standards fair is fair after all
Because at 38 years old if he was getting punched around a ring by Groves it probably meant he was too long in the tooth so should call it a day.... Groves on the other hand is just entering his best years.
On the contrary I was a huge fan but I know some groves fans and I seen a side to groves that ain't nice so I am just holding him to his own expectations and his own words If you cannot back up your talk keep stum George did neither
And how ma ny losses blamed this and that Groves as failed at every chance at the top level this is the easiest chance he is getting Really his best years he should be fighting the top dogs chudinov I'm afraid ai t one Just stating facts
Getting laid out by a 38 yr old that took a shellacking probably means groves is to long in the tooth to accept his level
So if he does not beat the weakest belt holder you think he should carry on His confidence would need years to rebuild against douglin type fighters no ?
You have to give Groves credit, he has grown up so much from his last 2 defeats. We can't keep judging him from a few years back. I regret how I've acted many times in the past and wouldn't dream of it now. He was still quite raw (and bigheaded) when he faced a great champion in Froch and maybe wasn't in the right place when he fought Jack (whom I believe he would beat now). Groves is one of the most dangerous fighters at SM right now.
Groves is a quality fighter full stop. Yes he has losses on his record but also has some very good wins (DeGale, Murray). Losing to froch is no disgrace and he wasnt outclassed by anystretch. Vs Jack i personally thought he won the fight but would of won IMO with Shane in his corner. IF he beats Chudinov he will most probs look for unification fights (Degale or jack). Say what you want about him he isnt afraid to test him self unlike so many fighters nowa days. Too many protected records now. Losses arent the end of the world. World titles mean very little also with all The WBA antics and the fact there are 6 lol Groves made good money and been in some very good fights. Never been outclassed and is deffo in top 3/4 in SMW division. Look at callum smith hasn't fought a live opp and everyone thinks hes god. This game is so thickle
I'm sure groves gloated at taking degales 0 I'm sure groves biggest ambitious was to grab a strap I'm sure Murray is being classed as uncredible on the GGG thread And I'm sure groves when he beats chu will be reveling in which ever wba strap he drabs and it will be relevant then Talk about flip floping
A paper belt vs a very medicore titlist. No doubt Groves will be lauding it afterwards how he has finally become "champion. This title for groves will have about as much weight behind it as the bought titles of Khan/Kotelnik and Joshua/Martin.
