Hes kind of built up the right way this time as well. Theres no reason people cant go away have a couple of decent wins then try again. Its when someone like paul smith goes away fights a couple of bin men then gets another shot when people complain.

Boxing fans can be a fickle bunch usually its complaining about not stepping up. But when someone does and fails. They want retirement or written off.

Tbf to groves i also felt froch should have retired after that first fight. He took a shellacking. On top of what he d taken over the career...it did start to get worrying. Froch wasnt a 28 year old or 30 year old fighter trying to make a name for himself. He was 36 years old financially secure with an established resume. You ve got to weigh it up. To frochs credit he went away worked his socks off and left the game a champion.

You need to be able to understand the difference between what's said in the build up to fights to get under opponents skin and reality. Groves has since said Froch is/was a great champion and one hell of a tough man to beat.
