    He hasn't proven he can beat Kovalev. It would be a fitting end if he recedes into the shadows. How in hell did the little blowhard get a rolling stone interview?

    Spot on, Ward could walk away from Kovalev and boxing but there will always be questions.

    I'm not really sure if Ward is taking a tough stance to make the rematch or if he is taking the position for a renegotiation of his contract with Roc Nation.
    Of the two, I would think getting a better contract from Roc Nation takes priority since that is the bigger payday than the rematch.

    Pump the brakes MVC, Dre needs to run that Kov fight back or face Stevenson. As a huge fan of his and a ultra competitive person myself I cant see how Dre can retire on that note. I think the Kov fight was close and could go either way. As a Floyd fan one thing I always enjoyed if it was close he would always run it back and show the world that he was the better man.

    I wonder if, in reality, Kovalev fans secretly want Ward to retire so that he forever leaves open the narrative which says 'yeah but he lost, it was a robbery'. What if Ward rematches and wins? What then? Who knows Andre might just grant you your wish...

    I agree if he wants to retire more power to him. He's a HOF fighter and has had a great career. I don't think he loves boxing that much anymore to be honest.

    *He still has to prove he can beat Kovalev decisively* Fix that for you, he already won whether you think he deserves the win is completely subjective but boxing scoring is very subjective in itself. Its this attitude to which he is turn off to and part of the reason he doesnt want to give the fans a rematch

    if he does actually beat kovalev, and not handed a decision by bough off judges, then he will get a huge amount of credit.

    and also as i say ive never held it against ward for the decision just the filthy seedy judges.

    It's not about proving anything right now, it should be about advancing from your hardwork and that's why he should keep fighting. I just posted a Thread "How can Andre Ward be a PPV Star?" a few minutes ago, take a look at that and tell me what you think.
