Did Hagler dare prove to be great?

  1. Yes, you can prove to be great in 1 weight class

    90.3%
  2. No, you have to move up. Broner dared to be great. Hagler didn't

    5.8%
  3. Golovkin hater here, this one's got me stumped

    3.9%

Hagler came up through the 70's and was avoided by other middleweight's it was not until his 50 fight until he got a title
shot. All this reason about Golvokin being better than Hagler at his 34 fight does not make sense. In the old days a
fighter within 100 fight cv was common. Golvokin legacy is not finished so any real debate is premature.
Hagler as i mentioned in previous post walked around when non fighting the same weight and Spinks was around 190lbs
plus. Why would he bother moving up in 1984 when a superfight against Thomas Hearns was nearing fruition for
more money ? Same with Golvokin a fight is looming with Canelo more likely 2018 than move up at the moment
when he also walks around basically middleweight.
I am fan of both fighters so i have no hidden agenda against either . Boxing is a tough sport where your career can end in
a single fight and anybody who chase's a big payday i say go for it. A boxer who thinks of is health and family first
before legacy is not ducking responsibility to the fans but wise.

Actually I'm still trying to figure out why Hagler should have entertained McCallum. By the time Hagler was on his retirement tour after almost 70 fights at age 32 (listed), he had fought Mugabi- who was considered a killer due to his 100% ko percentage at 154 and 160-even though he's subsequently proven to be inferior to McCallum. And then he cashed out against Leonard. McCallum not only had never been a financial draw at that point, but had never fought at 160 until a year after Hagler retired. I'm still trying to figure out how you can claim that Hagler could have avoided him in the 1st place other than ******* McCallum explaining it. Would you mind explaining it to us unenlightened simpleton s, please?

You are posting quite a bit in this thread. If you think it's sh*t, why bother posting 10 times in it?

Why would you want someone banned for asking a question? Why dont you make a sensible argument for the point that the poster is making?
I am not in agreement or disagreement.
I liked Hagler and am not sure yet about GGG or even really how his fight with Jacobs will go as in my opinion Jacobs has the better single win at MW over Quillin but I dont understand why some people get so insecure with some questions that posters pose?

Why do you feel Hagler fought in one of the best MW eras when some of his big fights were against fighters heading up to MW.
I think Hopkins fought in a better MW era with Holmes, Echols, Eastman as they were big MWs just Hopkins was a dominant champ

Im not a GGG fan but as I understand how was GGG to get those fights

I could be wrong about any of this and please correct me if I am
Sturm (why didnt that fight happen)
Martinez (didnt Martinez go for the Cotto fight and lose?)
Chavez Jr I thought went up above MW
    Cotto defended against other fighters
Canelo moved away from MW and I thought vacated
Eubank Jr apparently didnt sign the contracy
    Froch wasnt a MW
    Ward wasnt a MW
