Age is catching up on him his reflexes have slowed down his stamina is not good as it was he was gasping for air in the brook fight Jacobs has picked the best moment to fight ggg
His style is evolving. At this point of his career he doesn't have the athleticism to be a boxer puncher anymore. In 2015 we saw Golovkin at his best. Against Murray and Lemiuex he was at the peak of his game. But now he's had to become a brawler because age has slowed him down. He's now most effective just going full on pressure, eating your best shot and then hammering you until you submit.
Unfortunately you may be correct. 35 is pretty old for a boxer. And dont anyone bring up no Bhop he's a freak. Most boxers are on the decline after 35
He's not 35 yet, but he will be in September. Are GG fans gonna use age as an excuse when Canelo whoops GG in September?
Fighters DO age, and sometimes they get old overnight. Surely you've heard that line before. Personally, I don't think he's declined yet, but at his age, it's possible that it's not too far away. He's always in shape and hasn't taken much damage, so he could easily be at the top of his game for a few more years. Only time will tell. But the fact of the matter is, it happens.
That's why the fight has got to happen this year, in September. Gennady is going to get old overnight if he steps into the ring vs Canelo. But I don't want to hear GG fanboys crying about how old Gennady was when he fought Canelo, as an excuse as to why he lost.
First of all, we don't know he'll get old overnight, so no point in trying to pull that crap. Look, whether you like it or not, that's the chance you take when you fight someone nearing mid-30's. Now, if canelo defeats 3G and 3G returns in his next fight looking lethargic and old, well, guess what, chances are he's done and DID get old overnight. If canelo wins, and 3G returns looking good and like his typically normal self, that's another story. There's no rules or anything about guys getting old. It's a part of the sport. But the ironic thing is, YOU Are saying he'll get old overnight...but are also saying getting old cannot be an excuse. There's no logic in that statement what so ever.
Golovkin is there to be hit, but 35 years old with his style IS the ultimate recipe for a relatively fast decline. It's kinda sad because love him or hate him, he looks like one of the best MW's ever. How will he feel when he's up against Jacobs, Canelo and Derevyanchenko?
Oh ok. So Jacobs should be able to score that W then right?! I'll bump this thread after the fight. Lol
